Dude, shut the frick up. You are the El Gaucho of the more sports board, just posting stupid tropes like this for attention… Your act isn’t funny and people are tired of it.

Again, you're misjudging my intentions entirely. You're mad at me bc you refuse to take my post at face value.

True fans may hate him, but in terms of profit and the growth of the company he's one of the most successful CEOs in the history of business. The NFL is a behemoth that no other sporting league can touch.

This is akin to saying Al Gore and Bill Clinton were responsible for the internet technology boom of the mid 1990s. Some things are gonna happen no matter who's in charge. They just reaped the praise. Doesn't mean it's deserved. Goodell was given the keys to a rocket that was gonna soar no matter what. His legacy will be the cucking of his fans for political favor and woke ideals. Liberals ruin everything that was once great. The soaring money is as attributable to inflation as anything Goodell has done. Everything is "worth" more now. Not just the NFL product. It's called progress.

I disagree. Last night's game was awesome from start to finish, as was last years super bowl and most of the playoffs.

I think this board is saints centric to the point where it's insanely jaded against the league (and for valid reasons). If you go to Kansas City or Detroit and talk to fans there, I guarantee you they feel like the NFL is better than ever.

I’m sure there’s a few small examples, but I can’t think of one change the nfl has made to the game over his tenure that has improved the viewing experience for the fans.

It seems like every move he makes is the opposite of what we want

People just keep repeating this garbage because it makes them sound smart. The league has had multiple consecutive terrific and entertaining seasons

- Redzone channel available for cheap to everyone (even non subscribers of Sunday Ticket)
- Moving Sunday Ticket away from DirecTV, which nobody had anymore
- Extra games on Thursdays, on holidays, early Sunday windows (when in Europe) and now on Fridays (Brasil)
- Flex scheduling to ensure better games late in the season
- Draft being a huge event with rotating cities and multiple days
- Reduction in preseason games, which sucked for fans and especially STHs
- Increased protection of QBs and WR's which means longer careers for studs like Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and many more to come

Those are all slam dunks. I'd argue in favour of the following, but realize these are more controversial...

- Extra two weeks of games (need an extra bye week for each team IMO)
- International games give us some cool moments ("Country Roads" in Germany) and they all sell out at premium pricing, growing the sport
- Partering with Amazon and streaming to provide experiments like "all 22" footage live in games (I love it even though it hasn't caught on with most fans

You mentioned the "viewing experience", which is what I addressed.

The sport itself has evolved, and I would agree that some of the changes have resulted in unfortunate penalties that are frustrating. However, just 15 years ago all you read about the NFL is that the sport wouldn't exist in 10 years. You had people like Mark Cuban saying he'd never own an NFL team because the sport was doomed and wouldn't be around much longer.

Regarding the penalties that frustrate us - NCAA is far more annoying than the NFL in regards to targeting being an immediate ejection.

I'd also argue that things are getting better as players adjust. Just last night there were two plays in which a defender released his grip and didn't finish what would have been a horsecollar tackle. The players are adapting and the frustrating penalties will become less frequent as they do so. We get to see Tom Brady play to age 45 and Aaron Rodgers play into his 40's because of some of these rules.
