On March 31, 2013, former Louisville guard Kevin Ware went down with one of the most gruesome sports injuries ever seen. Ware attempted to block a shot directly in front of the Louisville bench, and as he went to land, his right leg snapped.
If you want to watch the video or pics you can google it.

I appreciate you not posting the pics, worst injury I've ever seen.

I remember hearing the leg "pop" on national tv.

Remember exactly where I was. That Louisville team was sick.

Remember watching that live and immediately feeling sick.
Went to ULM and remember us playing Georgia state my sophomore year. We usually talked a lot of crap from the student section to opposing benches. When Ware came on the floor that day some clown behind us yelled “Break a leg Kevin!” Didn’t get a very positive reaction from everyone.

Peyton Siva carried that team to a championship in Atlanta.
And to be honest
New Orleans Louisville-Kentucky Final Four semifinal > Duke-UNC Final Four semifinal.

I remember everyone eating Easter lunch around the tv watching this game. Some lost their appetite. Not me, I ate the shite out of the rest of my meal.
that was also the same day this massive sumbitch went through El Reno OK
eta: this tornado actually occurred on MAY 31st, 2013. Apologies.

True story:
I religiously watch college football but basketball (any level), not so much… I was watching the bama game live when dwayne prothro broke his leg. That was terrible
But that’s not why I’m writing this post.. when Paul George broke his leg, I was flipping channels… a basketball game caught my eye for 5 seconds, then SNAP. Leg broke
When Ware broke his leg, I switched to that game for one split second because I was trying to find out the score of another game, and sure enough, my TV hadn’t been on that channel for 10 seconds when that guys leg broke.
I know I know, CSB… but what are the odds??

Did you even watch that Final Four?
Luke Hancock was easily the most important player on that UL team in that Final Four. He was named the Final Four MVP.
He came up big in the semi-final (20 points) and turned that final against Michigan completely around with all those 3 pointers at the close of the first half. Brought Louisville back from a 12 point deficit in just a couple of minutes.

I’ll always remember the reaction of the Louisville bench. They freaked out.

Sorry to say, but you’re wrong on this point. The El Reno tornado was on May 31, 2013.

Sucks that it ended up being all for naught.
