They overachieve last year.
George starts season on the shelf.
Wittle kawhi needs 20+ rest games.
Bottom half of the west is projected to be improved.

76ers have a 27% chance of winning the title vs Rockets 24% chance

That to me says they have the highest chance of winning the title and therefore are the favourites.
Best team doesn’t have to be the favourites in their measurements because of the East/West difference

I like that they have the Pelicans making the playoffs but then I looked at the rest of it and i think they need to rework their formula. Having the Rockets as the top team in the west is particularly head-scratching, though I guess not impossible.

Yep. The Kings as the worst team in the West? Cmon. It looks really bad.

You just proved my point. I didn't bring politics into anything.

What I have to say about this thread is you love to push blatant lies to further your quixotic agenda of labeling every single move the Rox do as an incredible success while completely dismissing any and all negatives as purposeful leaks and/or lies by a bitter media trying to bring Harden/Morey down.

So yeah... you could probably be a fairly successful press secretary for a politician w/your ability to create your own reality.

There is a pretty large difference between being optimistic and going full Baghdad Bob every single time Harden, Morey, and the Rockets are mentioned.

Apparently Russ was available before the George trade.

Russ as the lead player has a ceiling. We saw it. First round exit. Russ as robin. Sky is the limit.

Chris Paul couldn’t get out the second round as the best player for his whole career. He did better than that his first year w hardwn. Russ gonna do the same.

That Blazers rating is weird. They'be been the 3 seed for the past two seasons and didn't do anything to get worse this off-season. (I actually like the Whiteside move but I can see why some wouldn't.)

Pels are too high. I just can't see it all clicking this year. Even new teams with ELITE players take time to gel; this is a lot of untested youth. Talented, hell yes, but still youth.

I would wager a lot on the Thunder being worse than the Spurs this year.

Come to think of it, that is a shitload of parity in the Western Conference. The worst team winning 33 games would be incredibly impressive. I think Memphis is heading for a 25ish win type of season.

I feel confident that when it's all said and done, the 4 seed in the East wouldn't be a playoff team in the West.

I wanted to run it back but we have russ now so he is my guy. It was gonna be a title either way this year and I woulda wanted Chris to get a title over Russ.

I don’t. Not even being a homer, we gave up Leonard and Harkless. We lost virtually nothing and gained a stop gap C until Nurkic is back. If we get good Whiteside, we absolutely win the trade. If we get mediocre Whiteside, he’s still better than Leonard playing 25 minutes a night there’s no downside. None.

33 win team last in the West. That would be brutal. Monty won’t have the Suns over 33 wins though. They must have forgotten to plug him into their calculations.

Guys on NBA radio today were talking about how they discussed the Russ acquisition with execs at SL. All but one of them thought it was a lateral or negative move.
