Super Bowl XLVI
9-7 New York Giants 21
13-3 New a England Patriots 17

2015 College Football Playoffs
#4 Ohio St on their 3rd string QB won

Underdogs can win. The playoffs will be fine. At least there will be some good matchups and not a bunch of teams sitting out bowl games or half the team out preparing for the draft,

Ill keep repeating it. Make all conferences winners auto bids and the regular season stays important.

Schools that whine their league is stronger so it's not fair are free to go join those other conferences or even break off and form their own.

Hey, maybe they could even do something crazy like oh... I don't know, break them all down into smaller regional conferences and then we'd have 16 or 17 auto bids for teams that actually won something and then a few slots for the best of the rest.

Oh wait never mind, that wont benefit ESPN and Fox b/c they'd have to pay more money. Well shite.

Mega conferences w/5 loss playoff teams it is. It's what the people* want.

Which just speaks to the absurdity of a playoff giving us a "true champion."

#4 Ohio State had a running back named Ezekiel Elliot who ran for almost 500 yards, averaging 8.5 yards per carry, in two playoff games. That is why they won the national title in 2014. It had very little to do with Cardale Jones.

I don’t understand what you are trying to say.
Are you saying the NYG shouldn’t have been given the opportunity to beat everyone in the playoffs to win the Super Bowl or that NEP should have been handed the trophy at the end of the season?

This is completely disingenuous.

Cardale Jones walked on the field and dominated. Only 1 qb in the Big Ten had a higher rating than Jones and that was JT Barrett.

I would argue Jones was superior since he had to do it in the Big Ten Championship game then the playoffs and still managed a 160 rating.

Or speaks to the absurdity of unbalanced regular season schedules…..

The Giants beat the Pats in the regular season that year, too, and were 4-0 vs Pats’ Division (AFC East).

In their defense, Pats were 3-1 vs NFC East in regular season.

I can't wait to see the best players on those 4 loss team opt out of the playoffs since they know their teams don't have a shot.

Screw that. I don’t want to crown a 4 loss national champion, much less a 2 loss national champion.

There is a lot more parity between the best and worst NFL teams than there are between the best P4 teams and everyone else

Anyone who watched this LSU team would tell you it would’ve been an absolute joke for them to be in any playoff to determine a national champion. The people making decisions for college football can go straight to hell.

Yes, I am. A 9-7 team has no business in the Super Bowl.

It helps when you have Ezekiel Elliot lining up behind you and beside you. He was the MVP of both playoff games.
