Christmas week. Kids arent on campus, TV prefers NFL and NBA games that week. The long calender is the reason for the sudden loud calls for the elimination of conference championship games. That week would be week 1 of the playoffs.

Has the absolute worst schedule in all of major sports postseason.
Two week gaps between each round. There's absolutely no feel for the entire tournament just feels like a series of disjointed games

Is it really that baffling . . . I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that all of the major bowl games have been played on Jan 1 for over a 100 years.
Of course you could move the first round to the weekend before Jan 1st it's not like anyone else has anything going on that weekend.

Ideally the CFB national title game would be in the week between the Super Bowl and conference championship games.

2 week fricking breaks between each round. GTFO. Why can’t we just play straight thru starting Dec 30th thru Jan 25th.
Also only 3 of 11 games are being broadcast on ABC. That is fricking criminal.

Why do they have 4 pm ET Quarterfinal game venue on Jan 1st as TBD? 
There's only 1 game that goes in that time slot and everyone knows it.
