Ryan Poles might just be a very good GM

I like the trade a lot less now that I see the Bills gave up a 2nd round pick combined with Moore's contract. I know they get a 5th back but that's meh. Moore needs 1000 yards next year to justify it IMO which shouldn't be that tough.

Damn that feels a little desperate from Bills at first glance.

Eagles must be asking for a 1

It’s a lot for Buffalo to give up, but they were in pretty desperate need. I think DJ Moore still is a very high-quality WR. He was great in Carolina, and ironically had the best season of his career with Fields when he was the Bears clear #1 target.

But since then, the Bears have added a lot of weapons (Odunze, Loveland, Burden) and for whatever reason (maybe partly due to all those other added pieces), he and Caleb rarely seemed to click. I don’t think they disliked each other or anything, but they were rarely on the same page. But I think he still has that talent in him and will absolutely thrive with Allen.

Bears don’t need him anymore with Loveland, Odunze, Burden and Kmet (particularly given the aforementioned chemistry issues between he and Caleb). The cap space and 2nd rounder is more valuable. I think it could be a win-win for both teams.

Dolphins wanted a full 1st round pick for Waddell without a pick swap. Bills got Moore for a 2nd round swap with a 5th round

Not sure why people think this isn’t a baseline deal on both sides . You aren’t getting a borderline true 1 for any less . Your chance of getting a WR like Moore in the 2nd round is so damn low . Hell it’s low even in the 1st

I’d take that waddle deal over this one 100/100. I like Moore as a player, idk if I would call him a borderline 1 but I do agree people take for granted how hard it is to get quality weapons outside of the top of the draft.

What has Waddle done to prove he’s worth a 1 at this point?

It's a good move, Allen needs weapons. You gotta try to win now. Allen turns 30 this year. Who knows how many more years of elite play he has.

It’s a really good signing. I have no idea why people care trading a 2nd round pick for a 5th. That’s almost completely inconsequential

Seems they are pushing money up rather than back

Dude cmon that’s ludicrous I can hear the argument that it’s not a bad trade or even a good value given Moore talent, but let’s not pretend there isn’t a big value difference between a 2nd and a 5th round pick.

Would be a smart move for Murray. Pretty easy to rehab your value there. He should resist the bag from the jets if that’s the other option

I’d argue DJ is not a field stretcher. He’s a great YAC guy. Total dog with the ball in his hands but not necessarily a burner.

The Bills do love screen passes so he would work well with that.

Most importantly they had zero WRs that could win against man coverage

If you had corners that were remotely good it turned into whether Josh could force you into zone with his legs. Teams like the Texans punished him.

Dj has been elite against man coverage - spefically in a bunch of the man beaters that Brady likes to use. When he spams mesh routes, Moore is among the better options out there.

I’m not pretending he’s a top ten weapon but he’s a very good fit for where their offense could otherwise run out of answers to move the ball
