Bob Pockrass
@bobpockrass
No competition caution for the truck race at Richmond (Noon, FS2). Stages 70-70-110, 5 sets, fuel 85-100 ... Honeyman to the rear for a driver change as he replaces Bell

I think Harvick got a race suspension. He was pretty wild back then. Made it fun

His crew chief’s strategy call really paid off and kept him on the lead lap for much of the race. He had a decent finish, but Cindric having a rare fantastic race still has SVG on the ropes with two to go.

Gotta keep grinding. I know he’s not a serious chase contender, but for some reason I always root for him to do well on the track.

#NASCAR ... Kyle Larson during his press conference after winning the Knoxville Nationals on the effort by Hendrick Motorsports to get him to Knoxville:
“When I woke up (Saturday) morning, the weather here looked really bad (in Knoxville) like I won’t need a contingency plan. I’ll be able to come here tomorrow and race Sunday. Then the weather was getting better, the forecast was getting better throughout the day.
"By the time of our (Hendrick Motorsports) team meeting at 4 p.m. (at Richmond) it looked really good (at Knoxville) I thought. There was only a small chance of maybe 6 or 7 pm and it said light rain and I said 'Ok, they’ll get it in no matter what where I won’t have time.'
"Still, when I got to the trailer, Cliff’ (Daniels is) like, ‘I’m talking to Jeff Andrews. We’re trying to get you a helicopter and this and that from the racetrack, you might need to move your plane from this airport to that airport.
"I’m like, ‘Dude relax.’
"I’m like there’s no chance of me racing. The forecast is too good.
"I was a bit like bummed at that point because I was really happy about the forecast when I woke up. Then I was like, no it’s fine.
"I was surprised he came on the radio and told me they were delayed.
"It just means a lot that they love dirt racing as much as I do and they support it. Everybody at Hendrick Motorsports to allow me to do this while they’re paying me a lot of money to do that for a living and try to produce results for them and win championships is pretty amazing.”

#NASCAR ... Cliff Daniels helped put together a plan for Kyle Larson to fly to the Knoxville Nationals after the Richmond race. ... After scoring a top 10 at Richmond, Larson won his 4th career Knoxville Nationals.
Cliff said he told Kyle before the Richmond race: "I said, 'Hey, look, why don't we just have a plane ready, have stuff ready to go and if it works out, then great. I'd much rather have a plan in place that we can say no to, or if they get the feature in, then so be it, then to having nothing prepared.'
"He kept telling me no. He kept telling (Hendrick Motorsports President and General Manager) Jeff Andrews no, but we were persistent because we knew that if we get him there, he can probably do something special."
