If it’s being streamed, not sure with venue change, it usually would be on vsn sports.. not sure if thst holds true in playoffs or today..

It’s so John Curtis it hurts.
All the Catholic League schools now are making deals with local recreational parks… Mount Carmel plays softball at Bertolino, Chapelle at Butch Duhe, and Dominican at Harahan
Thing about Harahan Playground is that they have like no foul territory
Btw with the Shrine on Airline being renovated, they’re throwing it back to the old days and Bertolino will host at least the Chalmette-John Curtis game in week 10 next fall. Rummel is playing us at Yenni

I’m genuinely asking here — if we agree the lack of foul territory isn’t ideal, wouldn’t we also agree that having a telephone pole in the field of play makes it less than suitable for a meaningful varsity game? I’m not saying Harahan can’t host games at all; it seems perfectly fine for lower-level or non-varsity games.

Hey Eric
Wow, someone got their feelings hurt. I didn't say it was a top notch facility, I said field. The grass and dirt is kept in great condition. Could the park itself be better, absolutely and improvements are in the works, but it had to go through city of Harahan as well. We've played there for 30+ years and it's done the job. We don't have the money Jesuit has, remember, at the end of the day we're still a 2A school.

Catholic v Curtis was supposed to be streamed on Varsity Sports, but not sure if that's still a go with the venue change. You can also check to see if either team streams on Gamechanger.
I like Curtis in a bounce back win tonight.

I’d bet against them playing.

They move it to an all turf surface but I guess the weather could still be bad.

Isn’t there some talk of major upgrade
Posted on 5/9/26 at 6:50 pm to BARNEYSTINSON
Lots of places had quirky things like that but they are becoming fewer and fewer. La is by and large very far behind all of our neighboring states.
I mean when I was a kid Skelly was really nice and hosted playoff games so did mel Ott - Skelly went decades with nothing then finally got upgraded.
Heck a decade ago 1/2 the hs home fields didn’t have lights

I heard that there is a deal in place for Harahan playground to undergo needed upgrades.

It is being streamed on VSN tonight.

Dutchtown Zachary in a delay with a 2nd base issue it appears

Rayne walks off Lutcher to force game 3. Down 3-1 bottom 7 and score 3 with 2 outs to take the win.

I was talking to Johnny Curtis tonight about that. The city of Harahan has grant money earmarked and will match whatever money Curtis puts up. As of now, the upgrades I know are coming are folding seats, maybe 3 rows, behind home plate, opening the front of the dugouts and putting the smaller netted barricade like Walker High school had tonight, moving home dugout to 1b side and building locker room and bigger/better bathrooms and a home bullpen. Those are first phase that should be done within the next two seasons. A moveable fence has been talked about, but the cost doesn't really out weigh the need. Harahan has the rights to field for rec soccer, which usually doesn't end until right before district play starts so we would only be gaining 3-4 home games a year.

Zachary Dutchtown game was played in a monsoon. Weather definitely affected the game as well as the delay. ZHS 4 DTHS 3 Game 2 today at 1pm. Should be another good one.
