Only had 9-10 players show interest, I want to say 9. Just can’t field a team. Sucks because even if established they can’t play varsity ball for like 3 years or such.

This is just sad.

Whose everyone taking in HS baseball this coming year? Players to watch and teams to watch?

I like Coach Faust but I don’t know if we have the talent to compete this year… 7-5A is pretty tough and Bryce Wilson and Jaden Williams graduated.

Slidell is having a hell of a run in all sports… baseball they won last year, football district champs, basketball girls and boys they’re good, volleyball state champs (first nonselect in a long time), and now they can wrestle too

DIV Select repeat by Vermilion Catholic
VC and OCS both playing in the semis in DIV seems like a lock. Even in 'down' years those two just seem to always be there come Mid May.

Was always an awesome place to play. I never won a game there, conversely my son never lost a game there. I've spent a lot of time there.

Shame for the Gents, a once proud program.

Why does Barbe baseball coach fight so hard to continue the split?

West Monroe,

Braydn Cupit, an LSU commit at pitcher, can bring the heat at 90 mph plus.

Ran into a buzz saw last year with eventual state champ Sam Houston in the playoffs.

Several returners from last season, Peyton Starr, Brady Guillot, Davis Long, Sheppard Brown, Ryder Dejean

JJ27 will have a better idea but WM looks to be a strong contender again this year.

There’s a proposal at the LHSAA convention to eliminate it just for baseball

Is it barbe baseball or school leadership for other sports? Bucs won more than their share pre split.

Barbe will destroy the 5A division.

Barbe will be very good but bro....sam houston is fricking stacked. WM has top ace pitching that can shut down anyone

walker has a stacked line up, live oak will still be very good, one of the AP schools will be good. Mandeville will be very good.

but Sam Houston has to be the favorite and they are still very young but deep as shite.

Barbe may win it, they have a great coaching staff and a great pitching staff but saying they are going to destroy 5a.....yea not true.

I think Catholic and one of the nola schools will be the best in select division

teurlings will be stacked in div 2 select. St louis is stacked in div 3 but PVB, UHigh and others are also stacked.

its not baseball, although they prolly enjoy not having to play catholic every year but its mainly football and other sports. Barbe has become a baseball school over the last decade but at its heart...its still a football school.

they are a very strong contender this year. With Cupit...they can compete with anyone in a 3 game series. anyone.

and Starr is a problem for teams. Now a junior and one of the leaders......yea he is going to be an issue. Kid has been a stud for a long time.
