Keep the GWC (I don't want to see us go back to ending races under caution), but do not allow any pit stops for the GWC. You have what you have.
Agreed. I'm in favor of a GWC over ending under caution but for the championship race there should be changes. 10 lap shootout, 25, something more than 2 laps under power. This 60-yard field goal to win the Superbowl just doesn't resonate.

I think we would have had a good championship under older system. All you saw today was focus on 4 drivers. Thats not good for sponsors of other 36.
Prime example of this was the Roval Race. They completely ignored the SVG/Larson battle of wits to cover just Logano and Chastain. The last half of that race was focused on those two alone and not the battles throughout the field.

Under the Winston Cup Series championship format, Christopher Bell is the champion:

That's actually worse than what we got.

Hamlin just said at a media availability connected with the NASCAR awards ceremony that he won’t commit to racing in 2026.

Have you even read any posts?
If we had a different system then every race starting at D500 would be run differently. Every team strategy would be different.
There might be runaway years but that means a team is deserving. But you can’t take this years results and predict how it shakes out under old system and put any credibility to it. Just can’t.
In racing there is no perfect system but the original one was very accurate to how teams did all year.

He looked absolutely broken. I would not call myself a Denny fan, but man, how can you not just feel awful for him.

OK Denny has since said he knows he’s under contract and is going to drive next year but it’s going to take a long time for him to get over this. You wonder how much it might have taken out of him.

I’ve been a fan of Briscoe for a few years. Just looking back at this stats, it is awesome to see him perform so well this season. I think we only saw a very small glimpse of what he is capable of with SHR. Now that he is with a better team and support, I really believe we are going to see him as a legit championship contender each year.

I really don't get the Denny hate around here. He does a shite ton for his fans, is approachable, put his money where his mouth is by starting his own team, and had the balls to stand up to the dipshits running NASCAR.
He came through the sport the hard way and has been loyal to the team/man that gave him his shot.
Will he punt you for a chance to win? Hell yes, just like every other driver out there but he's not a "dirty" driver.
I feel terrible for the guy. He's represented the sport well and deserves a title.
Although he was devastated, Denny is a hell of a competitor and I hope he'll be back strong as ever.
Y'all bitch about him and Shrub but this sport is going to miss those two when they hang it up. There are no other drivers out there with any nuts.

NASCAR Commissioner (formerly NASCAR President) Steve Phelps referred to Richard Childress in text messages as a “redneck idiot” who owes his entire fortune to NASCAR.
Phelps is a corporate stooge who represents everything wrong with current day NASCAR.

I'd say Childress owes his entire fortune to Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
ETA. Phelps would have said the same thing about Junior Johnson, Bud Moore, Leonard Wood, and Richard Petty. The new NASCAR hates the old NASCAR.

Yankee trash whose rise in NASCAR directly correlates with its fall from prominence.
