A group of guys I work with went to Talladega (been going for years) they said that was one of the worst they've seen. They said most of the fans there felt the same way, nascar can't get out of its own way.

Spent the weekend at talladega with some buddies. Very much enjoyed Saturday at the arca and xfinity races. Did garage experience on Sunday…the race is too damn long. Has nascar thought of switching to the xfinity distance? I thought that was perfect.

Was there too. Camped in the north lot. Completely wild time.

The race itself was incredibly boring. Like others have said, it's just straight line 2/3 wide green flag fuel saving the entire way.

This clip from Jr’s podcast about this car and superspeedway racing is worth a listen:

as a nascar newbie, it's crazy to me the xfinity races are so much better. i even enjoyed arca more than the main race.

It’s a bad formula. The cup cars are basically GT cars now. Downforce comes from underbody with the diffuser. It has to be fed so the front splitter has to stay up, and fairly level. This takes a lot of chassis out of it on the front, and get the rear down as low as possible without stalling the underbody/splitter.
They need to go back to downforce generated over body instead of under. Fantastic sportscar but not good on ovals.

I don't like the flat bottom. Dangerous when sideways, when air can get under the car and get it airborne.

NASCAR considering a race at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

I don't see that we have a SMH emoji ...

Racing in Philly?

How about an SEC stadium where they’d draw a big crowd. A night race in BDS or Tiger Stadium would be fire.

I’d like to see them race on the circuit Indy is on this weekend. Tired of them rewarding leftist cities

The problem is NASCAR chases the urban Northeast like a wino chases Ripple.

NASCAR should stay in its own lane and stop trying to poach tracks Indycar races on

I.E. Iowa, Gateway, trying to do street circuits

Barber is also way too narrow for Cup Cars and Talladega would most likely have an issue as Barber is like 20 min away

The Xfinity cars are, in general, much better race cars than the Cup cars. They aren’t perfect, but they’re better.

Agreed- I believe they are faster at a number of tracks as well.

Xfinity and Cup should share chassis with Cup having more HP

Stock cars and street races are just a bad combination.

One thing I notice when watching cup vs xfinity is as you’re riding along you can hear the xfinity drivers braking going into the turns. Cup cars are pretty much wide open around the whole track.

I've been saying it for years. Raise the front air dam, lower the rear spoiler and soften the tires. Make the drivers actually manage the tires and DRIVE the damn car.
