It was a long time ago so it's pretty much forgotten, but Glen was a pretty fair driver. Had four Cup wins, all at Bowman-Gray, and he had three other second-place finishes there. He was good on all short tracks but he was the absolute master of that little track in Winston-Salem.

Damn

9 Fords have qualified in the Top 10 at Atlanta, marking the first time a manufacturer has placed 9 cars in the Top 10 since Watkins Glen in 2015 (Chevrolet).

This is the first time Ford has accomplished this since Atlanta in Nov. 1993.

Back in the 80s, Atlanta definitely had the reputation as a Ford track.

I’m watching the Truck race and they’re under a red flag because they poured every ounce of speedy-dry they have on the track following a crash. A jet dryer came driving by the parked trucks (drivers inside of the trucks) trying to blow away the excess speedy-dry, and blew a huge cloud of it right into the side windows of the trucks. They don’t run a right side window at Atlanta, so almost every truck got filled with speedy-dry.

New Atlanta can be fun when they decide to race, but based on the Truck and Xfinity races they just run single file most of the time.

I’ve heard that local CW affiliates can decide for themselves whether or not to air Xfinity Series qualifying. If your affiliate doesn’t air it, you can watch it on the CW app. However, apparently today there are some places where the local CW affiliates isn’t airing the race and the race cannot be streamed on the CW app. That sucks. NASCAR has entered into broadcasting deals that make it harder to watch NASCAR.

Creed once again wrecks the field this time on last lap. He’s a dangerous driver.

February 23, 1986: One of NASCAR's most memorable moments of the last 50 years, the wild Cup race from Richmond Fairgrounds. Kyle Petty won his first race after the top-4 crash in the closing laps.

After the late crash, NASCAR penalized Earnhardt for reckless driving, fining him $5,000 and putting him on probation for the rest of 1986

Earnhardt: "I misjudged the distance between the cars. I turned him sideways. It's my fault, I'm not denying that. I made a mistake and hit him. But I don't think I'm guilty of reckless driving or wrecking somebody purposely. It was an accident."

Bill Gazaway, NASCAR Vice-President "There is a fine line between hard racing and reckless driving and Earnhardt clearly stepped over that line Sunday. We can not tolerate or condone such actions. We must preserve the integrity of our sport."
