Both Racing Bulls ahead of Max. How long before he gets “Demoted”?

In car shows him trying to deactivate DRS with his thumb If it was still open it’s mechanical failure.

I was told by noted F1 journalists that there was no way the Racing Bulls was faster than the RB.

Being reported that Doohan didn't close his DRS for the full send because it worked on the stimulator.

Sounds like correlation issues at Alpine.

I don’t get trying something like that in FP1. I think that If I was gonna try to pull a trick like that I would want to wait for qualifying. Pulling something like that so early just gives everyone else a chance to copy your homework.

Alpine sim physics probably didn't account for the tail wind going into t1 and he binned it.

better to crash in practice than qualifying i guess. dude knows he's about to be replaced, just shows how desperate he is.

Though I'm not sure a team like Apline is going to pull the ripcord before the summer break, if at all, you're 100% correct about practice versus qualifying. You pull that during qualifying for the first time and crash it and you're just fricked. At least now they have a chance to repair/replace as necessary

Jesus, they were talking about it in FP1 how you could take that corner flat out and how you had to be mindful that your DRS closed.

Flavio bringing the drama to F1 but not quite the speed.
They shouldn’t have replaced him in FP1 with the new driver. Should have let him go through the whole weekend like normal.
Think this issue is on him and the team both.

If he gets let go mid season it will be more about that comment than the crash. You don’t try something like that, crash the car, and then make the whole team look bad.

He was their reserve driver last season and had the whole off season to prepare and he still doesn’t know how the DRS works!? Inexcusable. I actually respected him a little more when I thought he tried it on purpose.

Along with Spa and Monza, Suzuka is one of my favorite circuits and a classic in motorsports history.

Can't wait for quali and the GP.

How awesome it would be to see TSU out qualify VER.

"I told him address the DRS operator."

Doohan tapped the brake, with the throttle open, but the DRS did not close.

Frankly sounds like an Alpine issue as the DRS is supposed to close on brake application.

Chuck did the same, brake tap while still on the throttle, and the Ferrari's DRS closed as it is supposed to.

Honestly, I've always wondered about the DRS operation and just never looked it up.

I'm guessing it's supposed to disengage with a tap of the brakes?

And while we're discussing, do they always have to deploy the DRS manually?
