What I don’t understand is had Bearman only done one stop I think he gets podium. He was ahead of Max.
I think Max would have easily gotten Bearman well before the VSC. I think Haas' ceiling was P4, and they made the right call to hang on to it. My opinion, anyways.

I started the season pulling for Lando, had switched to Max a couple races back, now I’m just hoping it stays exciting until the final race.

Cant see how anyone would argue against this. Bearman wasn't gaining on Leclerc and Max had no problems getting to Leclerc. Bearman wasn't going to stop Max.

Saved himself from going through 2 corners and falling to 5th.

Insane. I would have been going crazy if I would have been right there.

I would guess most drivers on the grid put the car in the wall in that exact scenario.

Some people might want to downplay simracing compared to actual racing, but reactions like that are definitely perfected in the virtual realm.

I don't trust Zak Brown. Lando might have some upgrades or the mechanics put a banana in Oscar's tailpipe.
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on whats going on at Mclaren.

Honestly I'm still really shocked he didn't pick up a penalty there, I suppose his saving grace was he was so far ahead of Russell.

It was an amazing move that paid off.
I don't know how you police that type of move. I get if a driver gets pushed off the track and has nowhere to go like Monza turn 1.
Maybe we see a chicane next year that has to be traversed. Would penalize leaders but a back marker could still get some sort of advantage if they blast into turn 1 without the intention to turn.

When Max went to the outside, Hamilton was pinned behind Oscar and it would have been three wide, which is doable in that corner. Only after did Lecler squeeze max to the outside (a good move by Charles) did Max have to bail. It wasn't some calculated move by max that he was gonna cut the corner the whole time .

Without a doubt I think Max had that move precalculated.
I don't think that was his first option but he knew that move was available if he could get himself in the right position to pull it off. Once he was on the outside he had no intention of turning in and went for the high risk high reward. Worst case he gets investigated and gives the place back. But he doesn't get damage turning in from the outside nor get shuffled a few places back.
Alonso in Sochi did the same thing. Protect the car and let the chips fall.

He was absolutely going to try to pass on the outside, but yes once it went FOUR wide he bailed, it would have been insane to try to make the corner at that point.

I mean any driver worth his salt should know if a running wide or bialing is an option in turn 1

He could have made the corner from the outside. It would have meant hitting the brakes, slotting behind someone, and giving up position but he could have made it.

I think it is awesome that Max went for it. To me that is the hallmark of a ruthless racer.
I know y’all don’t like NASCAR (and I don’t watch it now). But the move reminded of Earnhardt Sr. who was my favorite.
I think if nothing else Max was sending a message to the other drivers.

Except Dale was in the lead and didn't cut a corner much less 2. Didn't pass anyone either.
Also had contact with another car. And was in the grass for about a 10th of the distance.
Also also not a race during a championship; although it was for money.
Was amazing he didn't wreck that shite.

I’m not sure what yall are arguing about or if you’re even arguing. My take is Max should have gotten a penalty but I’m not faulting Max one bit for what he did. Fault is at the FIA and stewards. However, overall I want more chaos Charl and Max drive thru penalties and the I get to watch them come up through the field and maybe get a HAAS podium.
