I think Mexico last year was the race where Max flipped out and got two separate 10 second penalties for pushing Norris wide.

No more repercussions for Lando as the team has decided that Oscar had some fault in the sprint race incident.
Fair.
Fair.

More Lando favoritism.

This team is a joke.
What additional data could you possibly have found. Make a decision and stick with it.

No real penalty for breaching the spending cap. They won't DQ you they just limit you in some way that is easy to reword or work around.

It seems they are making this decision on the debrief after the race. Zak and Andrea both said Oscar had some blame on him for the move.
Mclaren isn't putting out press releases, the info is coming from Thursday interviews of the drivers.
With their convoluted rules it kindof makes sense. If you are going to take action on one driver for initiating contact then you should do the same for another.
For me they were both racing incidents but I don't know what agreements are in place between the drivers. Not aware of either driver saying anything has been unfair once the dust has settled.

Yeh when Red Bull went over a few years ago it was a $7 million fine and 10% loss of wind tunnel time. Next year being the first year of a totally new car tho, 10% reduction of wind tunnel time might cost them real performance on the track.
As for McLaren, the reported penalty for Lando was that Oscar got to choose if he wanted to leave the pit box first or second during qualifying. Not sure how much a difference that makes big picture

The work around for wind tunnel time is easy. Red Bull just said they were working on cooling and that removed the cap. Tweak a cooling duct and retest; no restriction on what else you change on the car.
There are limits on what data can be gained during cooling system testing but the team can still see aero designs and shape the desired flows they want. Then turn on measurements and start counting time to get verification of what the CFD models show.

Some of the reports coming out about Aston Martin are that it was just a paperwork timing issue and not actually spending more.
Their auditor didn't sign the paperwork on time. So really nothing there.

In the previous race when Lando bumped Max then hit Oscar and got ahead of Oscar and Oscar was wondering why the team didn't tell Lando to give the position back (because teammates are not supposed to make contact with each other, and that was definitely Lando's fault), I would be fine with that (leaving Lando ahead) if McLaren had not told Oscar to give up his position to Lando in a previous race because Lando's pit stop was too long. McLaren made it too complicated and Oscar legitimately questioned why Lando didn't have to give him the position back after bumping him out of the way. Lewis is right, if Lando or Oscar want to win the WDC, the gloves are off and they have to take it and f*ck papaya rules!

FP1 in Mexico is done. All the young guys participating in FP1 finished at the bottom except Lindblad who finished in P6 a tenth ahead of Yuki. The rest finished P13-P20 with Pato being the fastest in P13. Lindblad might be the real deal.

Lindblad did great. But some of the F1TV announcers saw this in terms of "winners" and "losers" and saw Yuki as a loser because he was the only regular driver who was behind a substitute driver. But the way I saw it, the session was great for Lindblad, and neutral for Yuki. With the rapid track evolution of FP1, Lindblad set his fast lap near the end of the session. By that point Yuki was already on hard tires. Red Bull was not pitting them against each other. Yuki was doing normal preparations, and I suspect Lindblad was working solely on qualifying setup. There would be no point in Lindblad doing a simulated race stint.
My point is the announcers are always trying to stir things up.
The real news is that no one crashed, and aside from that it's hard to judge any of the substitute drivers' performances because we don't know what their programs were. Except for Lindblad, who did great in a car that has a reputation for being tricky for everyone but Max.

I had a meeting right when it started so I didn’t get to watch just checked the results. I wasn’t trying to hold it against Yuki, just surprised to see one of the young guys so far ahead of the rest.
Looks like George had a good seat for FP1

FP2. The late afternoon light looks pretty cool.
But the sun is probably getting in their eyes in some corners.

FP1 had some interesting conversation on the Sky broadcast.

I wasn’t paying close enough attention but Jacques is always entertaining.
I heard them make the comment that AI couldn’t come up with the things he was throwing out there and knew I must have missed something.
