I mean, if you’re max, why would you stay?

With Newey, Horner, and id imagine Marko no long for F1, RB is basically a new team.

I think this seals him to Merc

Wild he got fired mid season after all they have accomplished with him. Took a failed F1 team that had been bought by an energy drink company and proceeded to win more than a quarter of all races they entered over the course of two decades. Does Ferrari hire him?

Maybe, they might prefer having Newey over Horner. They never flat out said Newey left because of Horner but that was the impression I got.

I Would actually be excited if Cadillac could get him in an advisory role.

Hopefully it’s an interim thing, Wheatley should have been promoted last year.

Was wondering how this would affect that talk about Vettel joining the team.

Laurent is certainly a choice. That being said I'm not real sure who else they could have gone after.

At this point I'm at least a little surprised they didn't appoint Jos.

People in here saying this confirms max is gone, if anything this is a Hail Mary to keep max.

A dumb Hail Mary IMO….

Again, lost Newley, Horner, and Marko isn’t long for F1. What connective tissue is there to all the greatness?

You’re basically building a brand new team full of uncertainty.

Max can confidently jump to Merc and know he is in a good place team wise. RB is a crapshoot now.

From a Reddit post

You're Laurent Mekies, a Frenchman happily enjoying your time in Faenza, Italy. It's a nice Wednesday morning and you get a call from your boss. "Great news" he says, "You've been promoted. You're now living in Milton Keynes, UK!".

So I clearly missed something with Helmut. What happened with him and when was that?

Racey Spice destroyed the team in the last 2 years. Apparently now tried a coup.

He is owed a lot, but the guy was still destroying the team and falling down the grid. No one could survive that.

Yeah the team was definitely falling apart. I’m sure Ford is real excited to teamed up with them now after the last few years.
