Not a fan of the title race being in Phoenix.

This popped up in my youtube recommends
I'd never seen it before.

Reading that NASCAR might have their next street race lined up. San Diego. Only question is will it replace the Chicago street race? Or replace a phoenix date?
I have read that spring phoenix may be on the chopping block, which it should be. Only 4 tracks should have 2 dates in my opinion. Daytona, Dega, Atlanta, Charlotte.

I'd imagine that San Diego would replace Chicago. A July 4th weekend street race has to be attractive to any city that wants tourism. I'd like to see if New Orleans could have a street race downtown.

New Orleans would need a ton of work with all the medians and potholes. Poydras around the dome is about the only street I could see holding it.

NASCAR doing NASCAR things and canceling Richmond race for one in Mexico City.
I get expanding to new markets but take away a race that sucks like one of the 1.5 mile yawnfests.

They needed two different tire compounds to make Richmond interesting.
Bristol may lose a second date soon. Kansas needs to. And so does Darlington. Only the drafting tracks and Charlotte need two dates.

They need to do something with Texas. That old configuration where you could run from the white line to the wall on both ends would put on a spectacular race with these cars. How it is now though the cars are too aero-dependent and the shock stops don't let them setup to run 3-4 high and still hold the bottom on 1-2. The Xfinity and Indy shows there are absolutely spectacular but cup is the 3rd best race at that track and that's only because the truck show normally gets stolen by a cup regular who walks away from the field.

The schedule is officially out now.
Trucks now have 3 RC
Watkins, Lime Rock, Roval
Xfinity and trucks return to the Rock
Overall I like it.

I think this the biggest news. Racing returning to Rockingham.

One of the narratives surrounding SVG was how would he perform at ovals he’d been to a second time. Daytona is hard to gauge. But he finished 7th at Darlington. Would’ve finished 6th without a late caution. I’d say that’s impressive.
Side note: but it’s flat out sad for Sheldon Creed. Was leading when the caution came out. The crew lost him the race. I feel for him.

SVG is a wheelman. Just needs a little more seat time on the ovals and he'll be fine.

Agreed. His progress has been fun to follow.

Race is underway at Darlington. Already a crash involving Truex and Blaney. Truex is out of the race and will likely miss the playoffs.

At the race. Hate it for Truex

Apparently Reddick has had some pretty bad stomach issues during this race. This was earlier:

Can Reddick ever just be normal?
Really good stuff coming down to the wire here. Doesn’t look promising for media favorite, Bubba.

Huge crash! Gibbs and Wallace involved, both of whom are fighting for one of the final playoff spots.
