That was a hard lick.

That’s two Daytona races in a row that Blaney has had a hard crash.

Damn that hit looked brutal.

McLeod has damage, too.

They all got stacked up again and Busch got into Byron.

Byron and Briscoe also involved
Glad to see The Champ is okay. That was a vicious hit

Just a soft touch sent him sideways

That hurt . Very similar to his wreck there last year. Glad he is ok.

Hamlin almost got himself crashed in front of the field.

Christopher Bell wins Duel 2. Kaz Grala races his way into the Daytona 500. BJ McLeod will join JJ Yeley as those who missed the show.

Yep…last second block. McDowell lucky his car is in one piece.
Bell for the win. McLeod going home.

Denny really shite the bed multiple times in the last 3 or 4 laps. Out of character for him on plate races
Posted on 2/15/24 at 8:56 pm to pdubya76
McDowell and Burton should go have a knuckle check with Silver Spoon Austin Cendric.
Cendric wouldn’t let McDowell drop back early on and because of that almost had him knocked out when Denny threw the block.
And Burton just because why not.

It probably depends on who you ask. Prior to 2004, it was just a year long points total and whoever had the most points won. That system seemed to award consistency across the whole season more than the “Chase” and “Playoff” did or do. The first playoff system NASCAR had (The Chase) arguably took championships away from some drivers, like Jeff Gordon and Carl Edwards, who would’ve won the title under the old system.
Yea around 04 is probably about when I stopped watching. Jeff Burton and the Excide Batteries car was my guy.

In regards to my earlier post about the best days of NASCAR having already passed, I just feel that way based on my belief that the Gen 4 car was such a great car back in the 90s and early/mid 2000s. Teams could bend the rules and make those cars better. The current cars are all the same and there is little the teams can do to get an advantage. The personalities back then were so great, too. I feel like most current day drivers lack the same kind of personality that we used to see in NASCAR.
Makes sense. Glad I got to watch the good ol days. I think i was a little quick to jump on disliking Hamlin. Dude actually seems like a really good dad and I kind of feel bad the dude hasn't got a championship.

Hamlin is arrogant/cocky and can come across as a douche at times. That said, he is a good personality for the sport and is one of the few guys who will speak his mind even if what he has to say isn’t what NASCAR would want him to say. NASCAR needs guys like that to help keep the sport in line.

NASCAR needs more guys like Hamlin in the garage even though I can’t stand him

I watched “I am Kevin Harvick” and thought it was well done. The pressure he had was massive. Then throw in his cocky attitude. He was who got RCR through that hard time.
Too bad RCR couldn’t figure out how to get better for Kevin. And I recall 2-3 years where KH was unbeatable at SHR yet could not win that 2nd title.
He’ll do great in the booth.

Due to the threat of rain, the ARCA race has been moved to 9:30 PM CT tonight following the Truck Series race.

I recorded it and will watch it sometime this w/e.
He was a cocky(in a good way) bastard.
And no one was screwed more by this current points system than him. He'd have 4 titles under the old system. 1 title doesn't do him justice and just how good he was. He's a top-10 driver ever IMO.
And he's going to be a star in the booth.
