So how will Nascar save Bubba this year? He was saved last year when they suspended Chase who was moving up the ladder even with his missed injury races. After the Hamlin tattletale suspension they packed it in for the year. This allowed Bubba to squeak in.
Right now he is 17th and those behind him (Brisco/Berry) are running better, and Kyle is always a threat to win a race even if his team sucks bad. TV (and Nascar) highlight him on promos all the time as if he was a top 5 driver.

The 8 car is only in playoff contention because of Kyle Busch. RCR seemed to be taking steps forward the last few years with Reddick and then Busch last season, but this season has been pretty disastrous.

If Busch just suddenly retired Childress would be Kaulig with a history.
Generational talents have elevated that team since its inception. Earnhardt. Harvick. Reddick. Busch. All have put that organization on their back.
