Indy car is for actual racing

F1 is for tech

Top 5 teams all in the points. All the garbage out.
And all slotted in pretty much the order I would have expected.

1. Red Bull
2. Ferrari
3A. Mercedes
3B. McLaren
5. Aston

Though I bet the A/B shifts to #2 with Ferrari/Merc throughout the season

lsurulz1515,

On page 42, you listed Perez twice and left out Hamilton, so you need to put Hamilton in place of one of the Perez entries.

iwyLSUiwy,

On page 50 you listed Leclerc twice, you just need to delete one of them.

Barring reliability issues, or boning into other cars, it's going to be very hard for the other 5 teams to score more than one point at a time.

That they get for beating the inbred for tenth.

I mean I get all of that, but Yuki's attitude has been an issue for years. He talks to his crew on the radio during races like a 14 year old who just learned to curse.

How he acted post race was way over the line. He needs to sit for a few weeks and pray Liam doesn't accumulate any points in his place.

OK I scraped all the data for the championship prediction contest. There are just two mistakes that need to be fixed, as described in my previous post.

There are 25 entrants.

Only one person, NfamousPanda, listed 21 drivers.* He added Liam Lawson to the mix. I was thinking about doing that myself, but ultimately did not.

Give me a couple of weeks to write some scripts to calculate the scores. I envision creating a transparent system where you can see how your score was calculated. We can even consider tweaking the scoring system after we see the numbers.

The scoring system will count each of your predictions. Your prediction for each team and driver will be compared to the actual position of that team/driver in the championship. The closer the prediction is, the higher the score for that team/driver. And then a different weighting factor will be applied to each prediction. Predictions at the top of the ranking will be worth more than at the bottom. You will then have 10 individual prediction scores that will be added up to a total score for constructors and 20 individual prediction scores that will be added up to a total score for drivers, and then the overall TD championship score.

*Regarding listing more than 20 drivers, if Lawson does not drive this season, the prediction for him will not be scored (and the natural penalty will be that the other predictions in the lower part of the championship will be less accurate), and if Lawson (or another reserve driver) does drive this season, only the top 20 driver predictions will be scored. This just means that if Lawson drives this season, for NfamousPanda, Lawson will be scored but Magnussen (his last place prediction) will not be scored.

Yuki's cursing has been explained. He learned his English hanging around mechanics.

I find his chatter amusing. Riccardio had a chance to drive off into the sunset and he didn't. That's on him.

Watching Ricardo fail to make it to Red Bull will be the highlight of the season. Horner may actually risk his job for it. It’s clear he has an emotional “one that got away” attachment to him.

Team Yuki.

Finally getting to watch. Of course Sargeant is off the track. Somebody at Williams needs to get on the phone and bring LaGOAT back

Hoping Sainz and LeClerc battle it out like this all season. Love it.

Also, this might overall be the ugliest livelry I’ve personally ever seen. Honestly, outside of the Ferrari, none of the cars look all that good. And even theirs don’t look as good as last year.

Honestly my biggest disappointment from today is that Horner didn't collect the constructors trophy himself just as a frick you to FIA and F1 who both are apparently now doing their own investigations after the leaks came out.

OK, since Yuki has next to no chance to get promoted to Red Bull, I have a deal that would make everyone happy. Red Bull and Williams agree to can Sargeant now and put Yuki in the Williams, and VCARB can bring Liam Lawson on board to battle Ricciardo for the Red Bull seat. Both teams would be improved, the fans would get a better show, and Red Bull would likely end up with a better Max/Liam pairing next year.

Not good when the first race of the season is about the most boring race I've watched in 3 seasons.

He had a steering wheel failure that apparently impacted his brakes. He pitted to change the wheel.

Albon had some wheel issues as well.

Probably wishing they stuck with the dashboard now.

Perez needs to podium every race this year to keep his seat I think. I think next year he'll be replaced with either Saenz or Liam. I would say Liam would be the better choice, but he's really unproven.

Dump either Yuki or Danny and sign Liam to a long term contract and stick him in VCARB for now. Dump Perez and sign Saenz to partner with Max.

Play Saenz and Liam by ear. Liam needs to understand he's the long term plan for Max's blocker, but needs to prove himself first.

Think the play for Sainz is Audi. They know how to build a race car and they’re innovative going by their dominance at Le Mans.

Audi is a 2026 play though. So where does he go next year?

As much of a DR fan I am, I do think his time is at an end. But I also think Yukis immaturity will keep him out of the Red Bull seat. I like the idea of dumping one for Lawson and getting Carlos next Max on a one year deal. Lets Liam get a season under his belt and Carlos a chance to either stay or go to Audi in 26
