Like the FIA is so maddening, either it’s a blatant attempt to keep max out of it or they are morons. Either let every car finish their lap that was in affected or call it immediately , it was a double yellow in sector 1. No cars will be flying by as it’s in sector 1.

Seems like there should be away to let the cars past sec 1 finish the lap

I don't see how some of those cars will be fixed before the race

They want the championship to be as close as possible

Mighty fricking big coincidence they throw the red flag as max was in sector 3

Tin foil hat question... I highly doubt it, but saw something posted after Mexico that the FIA person issuing the points to Max is a relative of someone high up or originally with Mclaren

it's both.

A) Yes, they're morons, and
B) This weekend has been fixed.

one of the 4 stewards is the son of Teddy Mayer who headed up McLaren in the seventies. Personally I think the Mexico penalties were warranted. The stuff this weekend could be tinfoil hat or could be just a series of concidences/bad luck. It's difficult to orchestrate so many variables to purposely screw max so I guess everyone can decide for themselves.

Having said that, former FIA president Jean-Marie Balestre eventually admitted he acted in favor of Prost over Senna in 1989 so there's always been a level of "officials" frickery in F1

ETA: I would also add that johnny Herbert shouldn't be running his mouth on social media about his decision as a steward in Mexico given that he's also a steward in sau paulo. It's not a good look. Jos is rarely right about anything but in this case he is.

To be fair, that screen shot is mere seconds before Leclerc time was moved up in the standings

The France family secretly purchased F1, didn’t they?

Yeah he's right at the line so 2 or 3 secs to throw the red is a tough sell. Karun showed all the timings just now but I can see why RB feels like the coincidences are beginning to pile up

Albon ruled out for the race.

Max’s 17th place start gonna end up being near 10th with all the cars starting in the pit lane

Edited: Sainz only car starting from the pit. Albons spot will be left empty
