You’re certainly letting your dislike for certain drivers ruin your objectivity. Something I would never do.

Can’t imagine anything will come of that.
What’s Mexico look like this year for the teams?

Last five Mexican GP pole-sitters o 2023 – Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) o 2022 – Max Verstappen (Red Bull) o 2021 – Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) o 2019 – Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)* o 2018 – Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull)

Last five Mexican GP winners

o 2023 – Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
o 2022 – Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
o 2021 – Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
o 2019 – Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
o 2018 – Max Verstappen (Red Bull)

*Max Verstappen set the fastest time in qualifying, but received a three-place grid penalty for failing to slow for yellow flags

I saw on Twitter that they significantly shortened the main DRS zone for some reason. I’ll try to find it.

Hopefully it’s increased to 10 seconds.

Trying to make the turn legally; something that Max didn't do.

If there’s gravel there outside the track, does either one of them go that deep? Does the fact that Lando tried even less to make the turn mean he deserved to overtake?

Again let’s say there’s gravel there, Max comes in hot and goes a bit off track, dips a toe in the gravel. Maybe Lando can hit the brakes more, switchback on track and get the overtake done. But we’ll never know because in this situation, he kept his foot on the gas and went way off track to go around, which is illegal.

The track layout is going to make drivers more apt to do that, but it in no way makes the move legal.

Curious what "evidence" wasn't available at the time of review that would be relevant.

Seems pretty straightforward unless they are going with something on board from Max to show he intentionally pushed Lando off, much like the Alonso breaking thing last year

Think they had access to telemetry when they made the call they did.
He wasn’t ahead at the apex so Max can let it slide all the way off the track to keep blocking the pass apparently.

Yikes, FP1.

Bearman was going slow, Albon came into a corner and suddenly noticed a slow car at the exit and Albon lost control trying to avoid Bearman. Albon clipped Bearman and then had a big crash.

One announcer is blaming Albon, but it seems to me that he didn't know Bearman was going that slow.

OMG, on the replay, from a Bearman onboard camera facing back to look at Albon, that was 100% on Bearman. You can hear Bearman let off the gas at the exit of the corner ON THE RACING LINE.

The announcers are idiots.

If you're not watching, Bearman is driving a Ferrari in place of Leclerc. Lots of reserve drivers on track right now, including Antonelli in place of Hamilton, Pato O'Ward in place of Lando, Drugovich in place of Alonso, and Shwartzman in place of Zhou.

Albon ran out of talent.

As soon as he gets a decent teammate he's turned into Sargent Jr.

Soft as hell. Sainz is going to absolutely destroy him next year.

Watch the replay from Albon's car. He lost it when he hit the curb.

Overrated hack that's been propped up by shite teammates.

Oh, I totally missed that.

It still sounded to me that Bearman let off the gas on the racing line.

He's not championship material but I don't think he's a hack. I think he's a legit decent F1 driver.

OK, watching that video, I think Albon lost it because he was trying to take the corner tighter than usual because he realized that Bearman was going too slow, and took too much curb while hitting the gas too hard. Seems like he was doing a hot lap and didn't want Bearman to force him to back off.

It's FP1 on hards.

Great time to take chances when you are fully aware a slow car is ahead as you were able to observe him for the previous three corners as you close.

Supremely dumb on Albon's part.

Aside from the fact that Sainz deserved a better ride, I'm happy to see guys like Albon and Yuki finally getting better teammates to push them and give us a better idea of what they're made of.

I'm not convinced either way that these guys will succeed or fail. No hot takes from me, I will reserve judgment until at least after maybe the first six to eight races as teammates. Lawson is 1-0 against Yuki so far, we'll have a good idea between these guys by the end of this season.

ETA: And yes, Colapinto is already tearing down Albon's reputation.

I saw a post the other day claiming Colapinto is bringing in a similar amount of money to Williams as Checo is to RedBull. Not sure if that’s accurate or not but if it is I expect him to find a seat for next season.

If Pinto keeps it up for the rest of the season Williams would be wise to eat Albon's contract.
