Yup, going to be interesting to see if he turns it on like Col did in the Williams, making Sergeant look even more terrible than he already was.

"I think it was clearly communicated that he has to be significantly better than Yuki Tsunoda and he only managed that in a few races, so it was clear that this story of the prodigal son rejoining Red Bull Racing unfortunately didn't work out.

Red Bull is catching a ton of shite online for this but people need to consider that if it wasn't for Red Bull he'd have been out of F1 two years ago. They have him an opportunity to redeem himself and he just couldn't capitalize.

Danny is/was a great personality for F1 when he was personally doing well.

When he struggled, like in the first half of this season (and coincidentally, when the VCARB was more competitive), his constant excuses were tiring. He brought suspicion upon the chassis; nothing specific, just a vague "suspicion" because he expected to be doing better. (The team had to publicly announce that there was nothing wrong with the chassis.) This ignores the fact that he botched qualifying at least a couple of times, like getting his Q1 lap deleted in Australia because he put four wheels off the track. Yuki finished P7 so this was a very costly mistake from Danny.

Later in the season he started driving better, but VCARB's updates didn't work so the team struggled to score points. His increased success compared to Yuki didn't mean a whole lot if the team couldn't get into the points. Danny should have driven at a higher level for the whole season. I'm saying this because later in the season Danny fans were still talking about him replacing Perez, despite the fact that Yuki has scored almost twice as many valuable WCC points for the team.

tl;dr: Just tired of Danny's excuses and delusional Danny fans.

I agree his personality was good for F1 and could see him sliding into a sky sports role if/when he is done racing for good. I think he would be good at that.

It’s also exciting for the future of F1 that he is gone. Now we are guaranteed to have what, at least 4 rookie drivers next season.

Bearman, Antonelli, Doohan, semi rookie Lawson, and the possibility for one more depending on what Stake decides to do. That many new faces is exciting and should liven up the races. I expect way more safety cars next season ha.

Exactly! Red Bull gave him a lifeline.

With Horner's recent lukewarm comments about Lawson (because he's Marko's guy?), and Hadjar and Lindblad up and coming, I think they want to re-evaluate Lawson ahead of the 2025 season, and having him compete with Yuki for a few races will let them know if he's really the next man up.

I agree with the decision to move on but I wish they’d been more up front about it. Instead of announcing it before Singapore they let the rumors swirl and Ricciardo was the one having to awkwardly dance around it in all the interviews. He’s been in F1 for a long time. Give him a proper send off.

This man gets it. Danny CAN be fun and personable, but he’s been a pitiful, whining wet blanket for 4-5 years now. Good riddance on the track, and I hope he can find happiness in whatever comes next.

Are we thinking it's still a competition for the RBR 2nd seat in 2025? Or they riding with Checo no matter what?

If Lawson moves to Red Bull for next season that would open up another seat for a rookie, could have half the teams with a rookie driver depending on what Stake does.

RPM has gotten louder and more aggressive over time. Watch some of his stuff from a couple years ago compared to now and the difference is obvious.

Guy is funny as hell.

Bearman's GF is "FIT AS frick!".
