I think any change after parc ferme is a mandatory pit lane start but not sure

Googling and all I can find is penalties once you use. your allotment... But I know there is a penalty for changing something after qualifying.
In this case, does it count since Perez set an official time? Like I said, can't see how he doesn't have to take a new gear box, that impact was brutal.

It's a pit lane start if he takes a new gearbox. Once quali starts, you're locked in on mechanical parts. Aero can be replaced for the same aero.
That's why they didn't change Chuck's gearbox in Monaco a few years back when he hit the wall on his in-lap after getting pole.

thanks! thats what I thought, but was having a brainfart.
Can almost guarantee no points from Checo tomorrow. Come on Ferrari and Mclarens, both come in top 5 and that constructors gap closes more

VCARB trying to hold off Haas in the WCC, plus Yuki and Danny fighting for that Red Bull seat. Lots of motivation.

Alonso and both VCARBs on used softs, despite rain coming. They'd rather preserve a set of new softs I guess because they know they are going to be near the bottom anyway?
Edit: Nevermind, they are all on new softs now, expecting to still get a faster lap at the end.

Norris is just putting his D on the table week after week.
Too bad not translating into the race.

Norris was insanely fast in the second sector.

Max knows he'll just dive bomb turn 1 and either take the lead or wreck out everyone chasing him in the standings

Max doesn't have any more fresh tires. No point in going out.

Starting to sprinkle now... if Mclaren was smart, they will slow roll everyone and then just not risk and pull back into the Pits
