I know I'm going to get grief here for making excuses, but I think they need to fix up the exit of this corner. Yuki understeered out to the edge of the track and put the left wheels on the green patch, but it's when he got to the end of the green patch where it all went wrong. The left tires hit the concrete and suddenly the right side of the car was in the air and that's what flung him into the wall. Look at his steering wheel. He was steering right until it got to the end of the green patch, then the steering wheel suddenly jerked to the left. I think it's the tire hitting the sharp edge of the concrete that caused the crash. My long term fix would be to taper the end of the green strip so the tire hits the concrete at a shallow angle.

Sorry to the "Make F1 dangerous again!" crowd, but I called this one. They removed the grass at the end of the grass strip and filled it with gravel, to even the surface with the concrete so cars won't get launched when they transition back to the concrete.

Yuki's car needed a new survival cell so he will start from the pit lane with Perez.

The regular broadcast didn't really even talk about how his car got launched. It was certainly concerning.
