It would honestly be very Angels to hang on to Ohtani if they’re 4.5 games out of the last WC spot or something. It will be fascinating to see what happens though, that type of trade deadline acquisition/sweepstakes would be unprecedented just like his FA will be

You could double that list if you wanted to.

Why would Moreno trade away his most valuable asset when he’s wanting to sell the team?

No thanks. I like to keep the depression at a low simmer.

but trading them for bunts isn’t a good idea either.
I mean, they wouldn’t be trading bunts for HRs.

Bunts set up situations. Baseball is fun when it gets into situations with important outcomes.

I agree with you but to be fair pitching was not the reason the US lost tonight. Japan is good as hell and deserved the W. They play fundamentally sound and pitch well.

Was Ichiro the star when Japan won their first 2 WBC's? I'm assuming so, I guess.

Daisuke Matsuzaka was the guy every MLB team was salivating over in 2006.

Whoops.

I think Moreno sells mid season when they’re 15 out going into the break and the new owners immediately sign Ohtani to a ridiculous contract. Like 750 million dollar contract.

But what the hell do I know. I’m a Redsox fan and we have Chaim Bloom and John Henry

Situations also dictate pretty much everything about how a pitcher approaches an AB, too. A batter with a runner on first and no outs is not getting the same sequence as a batter with one out and a runner on 2nd. Analytics simplified baseball to such a stupid degree. Completely took the human element out of it.

A-Rod may actually be retarded.

A-Rod: See? Contact and small ball is the way.

Bunting is still dumb in 97.67% of situations.

Percentage approximated, but it's close.
