Best take I've seen on this on this entire site.

Coincidence?
Rick forced Trackhouse to talk to him and tell him to get his crap together. It's all mental now, which is a shame.

On SirusXM this morning, Elton Sawyer says they have looked at data on the Cindric-Dillon incident (it was recorded even though not available live) and "deemed this one as really hard racing" and no penalty.

Just the fact a driver had to do this shows how poorly Nascar has handled things starting last year with Bubba.
1. They way underpenalized Bubba. His was not only wrecking Larson. He then went down and tapped his car while Larson was getting undone from safety harnesses. He then got out on a hot track and assaulted Larson. He then disobeyed a Nascar official to get in safety vehicle. He then started to walk from lower track area to pits and as an official tried to get him to return he pushed him. He then walked all the way to and thru pit lane. 1 race suspension, should have been 3, mostly from actions after the wreck.
2. Chase got wrecked by Denny and returned the favor. No other actions. Denny whines to media and Chase suspended 1 race (same penalty as Bubba).
3. Brisco accused of wrecking so now with Nascar in dissaray and not talking and Brisco taking a lot of heat, he has to respond.
Summary. Bubba deserved way more than got. Chase was right call. Brisco appears to be clear. Nascar needed to have made Bubba about more than wreck. But since they didn’t it seems Chase got worse end due to less actions getting same penalty. Now with Denny whining and snitching Pandoras box is open for business
From Austin Cindric on the accident with ADillon.

It’s a strong list of drivers this year with the guest racers they have coming in for different races.

Didnt see the race, but saw the replay. It appeared to me Dillon came up, just as Cindric describes. I dont think either was trying to wreck anyone, but Dillon came up and wasnt clear. We all know what happens when a driver does that. Appeared to me to be the typical racing deal.

The problem is we’re even having this discussion. Thats where Nascar went wrong. Now every wreck will be scrutinized for suspension. Thats not good for the sport. It gives Nascar a chance to suspend someone at a crucial time. Thats definately not good

Can we just get back to "Boys have at it"?

Seems year is just riddled with penalties. One note, why didn’t Nascar confiscate the brake rotors that blew up last week plus look at the 23X team cars for possible brake air duct violations (which may have helped cause failures)? All their cars blew brake rotors yet its a Nascar supplied part.
Seemed odd to me, and something caused failures. Given the penalties to SHR the week prior for duct problems. Are they propping up 23X by not looking hard like other teams?

Erik Jones and team docked 60 points and 5 playoff points for modifications to the greenhouse. Crew chief Dave Elenz suspended for two races and fined $75K.
Jones goes from 68 points behind the cutoff to 128 points behind the cutoff. Violation was apparently similar to Hendrick greenhouse issue earlier this year.

NASCAR has approved updates to the Cup car for Atlanta resulting from a reconstruction of the Preece/Larson Talladega crash.
They've softened the front clip and reinforced right side door bars. Teams permitted to fabricate these changes.

Noah Gragson is out this weekend due to concussion like symptoms following his crash at Gateway last weekend. Truck Series driver Grant Enfinger will fill in for him in the 42 car.

NASCAR talking about taking Cup to Montreal. Would be third time in Canada but first in 65 years.

I’m sorry, but going anti-LGBTQ+ is not going to save the sport
The problem with the sport basically boils down to two things.
1) The product on the track 85% of the time is absolute complete garbage. It's complex why we ended up there but that's the main issue.
2) NASCAR's decades long track record of stepping on their own dick. This covers everything from inconsistent enforcement of the rules to doubling down on stupid shite like noosegate pandering to the casual watchers.
Now, jumping in the "pride" shite certainly doesn't help any of their causes. There's no Congressional edict mandating corporations get involved in that nonsense. Stay out of it and worry more about why your sport is failing.
