Without a doubt, overreaction Monday after race 1 is a tradition.

Jeddah will probably offer similar results, but once we get some different tracks filtering in results may be different.

Haas is just a tease. The hook us in qualifying sessions but then quickly fall behind during normal race conditions. I know Nico had a damaged front wing and all but it just doesn't seem like they have race pace.

HUL had a damaged wing thru 2 stints. After they changed it HUL set fastest lap that stood for a spell. Haas have decent cars that could contend mid pack. But “worse than 22 Ferrari strategists” keeps them back. I mean they put MAG on hard tires to start yet didn’t run him long to take advantage.

I wonder if they poll Tik Tok users on what strategy to use each week?

Russell pisses me off. Cannot stand him. Hamilton does not do that to me at all in comparison.
Was earlier poster trying to say that F1 has less viewers than nascar?

It may just be my monkey tribe brain in action, but I actually kinda liked George when he was at Williams. Sure, he's always been a little soft, but he was ok as the plucky and talented underdog that got emotional over scoring any points.

The second he sniffed that Mercedes seat it seemed like he walked a little stiffer, the accent got a little bit more posh, the head tilted back a little bit more, etc.

As someone stated earlier, 'twat' became the perfect word for him. Then he proceeded to drive like no one else was on the track with him last year and cemented by distaste.

The case of RBPT sounds complicated, since Honda won't want their IP transferred to Audi, even if technically the entity RBPT owns the IP.
If RedBull paid the NRE costs for the IP, they may own it or they may not. I put together NRE deals for my employer to develop and we NEVER release the IP and the development is very specific in determining where and how the resulting product can be used or resold into.

But in RB's case, as you alluded to, if RBR owns the IP, not licenses it, they can do what they want with it.

Red Bull’s Horner Likens F1’s TV Fame to ‘Kardashians on Wheels’

- Horner on Vegas: "I think it will be the biggest sporting event on the globe this year. The demand for that race is off the charts. Anybody who is anyone will be at that weekend."

Red Bull doesn't own the IP. The way it was explained is Honda builds all the parts and RBPT is just assembling things and putting them in the car.

RBPT is a 'new' engine manufacturer for 2026.

I’m not a big car guy but F1 is actually fun to watch. There is no way I can sit through five minutes of nascar.

Another thing to factor in, even though F1 only gets half the viewers as Nascar - what would Nascar ratings be like if their races came on at 5-7am every week? Or if F1 was on at 2-3pm?

Russell was my boy at Williams. Now he acts like his shite don't stink. A small part of me still pulls for him, but damn if that part doesn't get smaller everyday.

I hate western hemisphere races because it messes with my coffee and relaxing watching the race. I love being done with all day to go.

I agree, but I wish I could get a real 4K stream. Does F1TV have any of the practice runs, qualifying or sprint races in 4k, and especially the Sunday races in 4k?

Miami was cringeworthy and I’d bet Vegas will be even worse, I truly do hate it.

I’m curious how races like Miami and Vegas fair in about 5 years time, once the DTS shine wears off, it’s not the cool spot for the rich and the influencers to be, and they’ve priced race attendance far out of reach for the common viewer.

I feel like at this point they’re going to continue to raise prices each year until they see a drop in attendance. We went to COTA in 2021, our entire trip, turn 12 tickets, hotel downtown, food/drinks, all of it, was about $2500. I priced the same hotel and same tickets for 2023, that same experience would now cost ~$6000. No thanks.

Yeah prices are getting absolutely ridiculous... I was gonna go in 21' and had tickets, but ended up selling for double what I paid for them.

Glad I didn't go, as I heard it is so much more enjoyable on tv unless you get grandstand tickets.

I’ll say it’s worth seeing in person atleast once, seeing them pass in front of us at nearly 200 on the back straight, then get it slowed to hit turn 12 and accelerate out was nuts. How fast they can stop is probably more impressive than how fast they can go.

That tends to be the response of first timers driving them as well.
