Checo is done.

Lewis has won zero races since Abu Dhabi.

They Ferrari’d their season. As usual.
As much as I dislike GR, he did a hell of a job fighting back after getting punted by Ham.

Russell was the driver of the day, IMO, despite his terroristic tendencies and links to the Bin Laden crime family.

Still don't know what to think about the formats and everything that went on this weekend.
Liked how the eventual race format made the cars push the entire time. Despite almost killing a few drivers. Shows what the "save your tires" game is having on the sport. How to duplicate that easily and within what is already being done might be difficult.
The multiple strategies caused lots of passes, but none were really competitive since everyone was racing their own strategy.
The sprint v race did present a new idea. If we have to keep this sprint shite, leave the sprint on tracks that allow a similar, yet different, layout. Give the teams a 20 minute practice and then quali/race. Gimmicky as hell, but gimmicky is what Liberty wants.

I hate to be that guy, but I didn't get to watch the commentary and very little of the races.
What are the cliff notes on the tire situation and track limits? Did the resurfacing result in something unexpected?

The tires were degrading rapidly. Softs were basically useless after 4-5 laps. I think the wind, tire degradation and sand (dirty track) played a role in the track limits issue for some. Others had no issues with track limits including the guys that drove the fastest.

Yeah its weird how the best drivers tend to not frick up

Arguing over track limits is the dumbest thing of all time. When you stick a wall there for street circuits, everyone magically stays within the limits

True, I like courses with space but I cant argue this.

I'm not a fan but I defended him for a pretty long time, but yea, he has to go. He clearly just isn't that fast of a driver. That car is way to fast to be looking that slow.

I agree. Christian has defended him all year, but yesterday seemed less inclined to do so. They want Ricc in that seat.

Christian Horner says Red Bull no longer has a driver pairing like Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari "You can see Mercedes have a pair, McLaren have a pair, Ferrari have a pair that are quite tight between the respective drivers." "I think we've had that at the earlier point in the year. But as the season has gone on it's become more variant."

?? Marko says Checo's 2024 seat is in his own hands but warns that AT have 3 good drivers "The gap is simply too big at the moment, because second place in the world championship is also at risk now." "In general we want to implement the contractual situation, which lasts until 2024. And that’s entirely up to him now." "But then we have three relatively good drivers in Alpha Tauri." "Let’s see how this develops further. But we assume that Checo will find his old strength again." [ORF] #F1

I look forward to Mohawk's Qatar edition.

I don’t see what red bull has to gain by keeping him the rest of this season. They should move up the next driver and get him some seat time.
Danny ric coming back soon too….
