Not a fan of this change, that chicane has provided some drama as opposed to what will be 4 flat out straights.

Just a temporary change. There is construction on the waterfront.

Was in Vegas this past weekend and saw the all the track construction going on. Initial thoughts were I have no idea how they will have all that finished by the time the race gets there. The massive paddock is maybe 1/4 of the way built and nobody was working on it the 4 days I was there.

Pretty much every Uber driver said they aren't expecting them to have everything finished. They obviously will have the important stuff done but a lot of people I talked to said that they aren't expecting all of the stadium/stands to be complete. One Uber driver said he is going on vacation that week because of the race Apparently the race is going to severely jack up traffic for almost 3 weeks, not just the race week.

I will say, the room we stayed in at the Virgin would have been a pretty sweet place to stay at during the race. No telling what the price would be.

Non F1 related, the sphere is pretty awesome.

Max Verstappen on Toto Wolff’s Wikipedia statement regarding his 10 win streak:

“They had a bad race in Monza, so he was probably still disappointed about that. It sometimes seems as if he is an employee of our team, but fortunately that is not the case”

Saw a different less PG edit floating around the internets though

quote:

"No, I'm not disappointed in that," Verstappen said about Wolff's comments ahead of this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix.

"I mean they had a pretty shite race, so probably he was still pissed off with their performance," added Verstappen, referring to the Italian Grand Prix where Mercedes pair George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished fifth and sixth.

There's a reason they are uber drivers and not engineers, project managers, etc.

I’ll be at the race in Vegas. Got presale tickets through Amex and booked a room at the LINQ the day after we got the tickets for 3k for 5 days.

Checked last night and room rates have been slashed in half. Called the hotel and had them switch me to a suite at the Paris and saved 1k.

Hotel employees were very diplomatic and politely told me they were looking forward to construction being done so their commute wasn’t as bad as it’s been.

I agree. I like it as a single chicane but as a double it's no bueno for me.

Wow, wonder if this is an indictment of a "boring" season or the average fan taking back over.

Have we discussed Helmut's comment about Sergio and now Hamilton's response?

quote:

"Let's remember that he is South American and so his head is not as focused as Max Verstappen or as Sebastian Vettel was, but racing is his forte and he had a very good race."

These comments sparked plenty of backlash from fans across the world with plenty calling for the Austrian to lose his job with Red Bull. Despite the calls for Marko to face the sack, the 80-year-old has escaped with an apology.

quote:

“It’s completely unacceptable what he said," Hamilton told Sky Sports F1 when asked about the comments. "Whilst we say there’s no room for any type of discrimination in this sport, which there should be no room for it, to have leaders and people in his position making comments like this is not good for us moving forward."

Helmut really showing his ignorance here.

Doesn’t he know Mexico is not in South America?

This is just Helmut's quarterly semi-racist statement.

Last year was Sergio should be used to the missiles in Saudi because he grew up with crime in Mexico City. Which he didn't.

SHARP!

I bought one of the McLaren Gulf hoodies from when McLaren did the Gulf livery a few years back. Might have to crank the AC down in the house so I can wear it, slap some Williams logos on it.
