I mean if you want to get really competitive, sure there is a learning curve. But if you want to have fun and drive there are some pretty standard cars on simple tracks that you can drive no problem.

Do you have a pedal and chair setup?

Logitech G923 came with the pedals. I bought just a standard stand, sorry can't recall the brand but they're easy to find. But the stand is made for the G923 wheel and pedals to be added to it. In fact, the stand I bought oddly I found on the Lowe's website lol.

I don't have a chair, just an office chair but I've been playing it more lately, so that investment is probably coming soon. And honestly, I can buy a comfy gaming chair that I imagine I can use as my office chair as well since I work from home.

Yea, kinda same for me, though I don't know too much about it. I've been playing on F1 for about a year and slowly removing assists. But I still simply cannot do laps in an F1 car around F1 tracks without gear assists or a racing line, that would just be really bad lol.

Just this version of F123, I've finally gotten used to turning off complete ABS and traction control. Baby steps!

You just need a fridge and a trophy and you can be just like Max.

What about all the Hamilton years, did you watch then?
full disclosure i really started watching right before covid so I saw the tail end of LH dominance when he at least had a team and driver contending with him. Due to me kinda jumping in and having no real allegiance I dont really pull for any one driver particularly. I just like to see some competition at the front.

Ok, then, yea its gonna be a total time suck and have to analyze your lap times with software to determine braking, throttle, brake points, wheel spin, tire wear, etc

The W13 is a giant fricking pain in the arse to drive in iracing

barry made a compelling argument: How much would a track car cost to buy and maintain? Sim racing is multiples lower than that. If interest rates ever drop again and I can get a bigger house, you better believe I'm building something like barry.

If you're waiting on rates to to back to 2020 levels, you may as well just join me with the introductory G923 wheel, generic wheel stand, and regular office chair setup

That rivalry had so much potential.

And here is the wind tunnel allocation for the rest of the year.
The allocation was just before the mclaren upgrades which meant they were able to score more runs at Alpines expense.

Wind tunnel runs from 1 July to 31 December

Red Bull Racing: 201.6 runs (224 runs from 26 October)

Mercedes: 240 runs (down 16 runs)

Aston Martin: 256 runs (down 64 runs)

Ferrari: 272 runs (up 32 runs)

Alpine: 288 runs (up 16 runs)

McLaren: 304 runs (up 16 runs)

Alfa Romeo: 320 runs (up 16 runs)

Haas: 336 runs (unchanged)

Williams: 352 runs (down 16 runs)

AlphaTauri: 368 runs (up 16 runs)

If the general public learned nothing else this week, the wind tunnel time means nothing.

Will be interested to see how penalties alter for those who broke the cap this year.

Considering getting an Xbox, pedals, wheel, and chair (possibly an all-in-one setup).

Anyone wanna race? Dibs on Kevin Magnussen in the HAAS VF-23.

For those that have something like the G923, is just putting the pedals on the floor and the wheel on top of a computer desk good enough to get started? Or do you really need at least a mount for them?
