I kinda want Palou to stay in Indycar now.
As long as he stays away from redbull, he should be alright.
RedBull is Max Verstappen and then everyone else is like twenty tiers lower.

As a business owner I have to make this same decision daily.
If someone is performing sub par and costing the company time and/or money I have to make a change to someone that will perform.
This is no different than what F1 managers do. Difference is they have to pull from a very tiny "work force" (drivers) which makes it even more difficult for them.

I think its a marketing move just as much as a race performance move.
They plan to rebrand the team soon, what better way to draw attention than to stick one of F1's biggest stars behind the wheel? I'd imagine the rebrand name will be issued before the season ends, so they'll have Danny Ricc around to shine the light on that instead of just getting brushed off.

While all true, do you also take into consideration you might be reacting too quickly?

I can definitely see the argument of not giving him enough time, but it's commendable to admit you made a mistake and deal with it immediately as opposed to trying to prove you were correct and keep him around too long because he's your guy.

Exactly... If you know he's not your guy longterm, break it off and move forward.
What Haas should have done with Nikita. Instead, they were too tied to the sponsorship and only made the change when they had to.
Now look what Hulk and Mag are doing. Yeah they aren't winning races, but they aren't consistent back of the pack.

Explains the high washout rate with his drivers and his driver program.

And you think this is wrong.
F1 isn't a fricking jobs program. It's performance based. If you don't perform you are gone.
Should an NFL team give a QB that sucks 2 years to continue to suck before making a move? No, and it doesn't happen if the team has a better choice.
Debris is 28 years old and has been driving single seaters for like 10 years. He's 3 tenths behind a guy that no one thinks is WDC material.
Adios Nick.

Dumb, new F1 fan question...
If Alpha Tauri is the Red Bull junior program bssically and has a terrible car and Red Bull has an all time level fast car... Why don't they just give AT the exact same RB replica and Red Bull just completely dominate the sport with 4 drivers and 2 teams?

The football equivalent would be cutting him before conference play begins.

While continuing to employ the second worse QB in the leauge for years with little improvement.
Junior team, coach him up. shite, coach anyone up at this point.

Rules against it.
F1 is a constructors series. So you need to construct your own car. Or at least most of it. You are allowed to buy certain parts from other manufacturers (or have them made for you)
Haas is a good example of an independent that has Dallara construct the chassis and buys spec parts from Ferrari (including engine)
Also aren't allowed to share wind tunnel or research data. Although this is hard to completely police since teams share a lot of resources there as well.

The even more ideal scenario for me is for Yuki to get promoted to Red Bull

I don’t have any idea of how fast he is, but I think Yuki would be consistent

Latest rumor mill has LeClerc to redbull and Sainz to Audi, with Albon taking a Ferrari seat.

Audi been keen on sainz for a while. And you know they will want a German in the other seat…enter mick.
Not sure if albon could handle the pressure of Ferrari. He is a super nice guy and has a good thing going at Williams.
Max has a man crush on Charles, so I could see that working.

I wouldn't hate leclerc or sainz leaving the dumpster fire Ferrari.

That’s really spicy
It would be amazing to watch LeClerc battle Verstappen in an equal car. And Sainz makes sense, he wants to be the top driver, like they all do.
