Starting on the front row is a fantastic opportunity for Lando to show what he's made of.

That’s a lot closer than I’m expecting it to be.

No one reasonably expects Lando to win if Max doesn't suffer any bad luck. Even if Lando takes the lead at the start, no one expects him to win.
I'm saying that a podium finish would be huge for Lando, who could use a great result to burnish his reputation as he gets closer to the end of his contract. I expect him to come under pressure from Ferrari or Mercedes. I'm not convinced quite yet that McLaren has the race pace to compete with Alonso, Mercedes and Ferrari on a regular basis, although Piastri's good showing after getting the upgrade suggests McLaren are the real deal. If that's the case, it's going to be awesome for the fans; we can look forward to an incredible 2nd half of the season (if you ignore Max's runaway championship

"I don't know why it went wrong today, but with our car you should normally get into Q3," Verstappen told GPblog and others afterwards. The follow-up question was what does the Dutchman think the team thought of Perez's yet another non-performance? "You have to ask Helmut [Marko] or Christian [Horner] that," Verstappen continued. He then said, laughing a little, "Of course we are fighting for the team championship too, but I think I can do that on my own at the moment.
I'm no Max fanboy, but I do get a kick out of how he has no problem throwing bombs.

Yes, he can be hilarious. I don’t even hate him TBH. I just hate how dominant he is.

how dominant he is.
He lives for racing and may bow out of F1 to pursue other motor sports before we even know it...
In my eyes, Max Verstappen is already an F1 Legend...

Piastri is going to end up taking Lando out by accident.
They should give strict rules to stay the hell out of the way of each other at the beginning of the race.

Is that the infamous mini-fridge that the drivers championship trophy sat on for the longest?

Just amazing, he’s going to need to request more mini fridges.

Is it possible that the Red Bull itself isn't as far ahead of the rest of the pack as we think and it really is just Max being the greatest driver ever? Or does Perez just suck that bad?
My first real introduction to Checo was the god tier defensive driving he did on those old tires to get Max his first title, so it's hard for me to pile on him or even accuse him of not being a good driver. I like the guy, but Max is shitting on him on a weekly basis.

Every now and then you get an incredible driver in an incredible car and you see this dominance.
It doesn't take away from the car or driver to say each is a pinnacle of the sport.
Checo was at Force India for a reason. He can string together some good drives, but he was certainly still in F1 because he was a pay driver.

I think it's both. Red Bull(like all other teams) has spent the past few years building a car for Max and then trying to shoehorn another driver into the second car. He's certainly a great driver with a car built for his style of driving much like Hamiltons cars and strategies were built for him. Think we saw with Lando/Riccardo as well. Lando could drive the wheels off the not so good McLaren and dannyric just drove around the track trying not to wreck.
