Cool ice visual. Lightning nailed with 7 on the ice; Avs had 6. But..."Too many men on the ice"? Refs could be calling that during every and any OT in history.

quote:

Vasi was getting shelled all OT. was only a matter of time.

Yup. Foregone conclusion. Not even Vasi could stop that Avs onslaught. Even by the time of the GW they could have already legitimately scored 3 goals. Lightning had nothing left in the tank + Avs had fresh legs.

Tampa Bay Lightning. Defending Champs. Blowing a game they led late and had to have back in Tampa. Got badly fatigued as the game went on. Now playing Game 5 in Colorado's thin air. Will "A Champion's Heart" in this one even matter? Or have the Lightning just hit the wall against a better team?

IF Lightning have a chance tonight they must do damage early & often against Kuemper (who at times has looked shaky during the playoffs). They'd better be leading by at least 2 goals entering the Third Period because won't have much left in the tank by then in Colorado.

Colorado Avalanche. Big Edges: The Stamina Factor. Home Ice Factor. All Lines clicking. Confidence Factor. (And their Offense lights it up like a pinball machine at Home.)

NHL Betting Lines:

Tampa Bay Lightning (+145) at Colorado Avalanche (-175)

PUCK LINE: Tampa Bay +1.5 (-188) / Colorado -1.5 (+138)
TOTAL: 5.5 OVER (-133) / UNDER (+105)

Easy Money to be made here with both Colorado (giving the 1.5 Goals AND taking the OVER.

My Game 5 Handicapping Line:

2.5 Goals.

TOTAL 7.5 OVER

Prediction:

Avs wrap up the Cup, cruising to a 6-3 win (with the Lightning tallying a couple of goals late to make the final score look respectable.)

If I’m not going to Tampa for game 6 going to do a surprise road trip with the family for my long weekend tomorrow

So I’m torn bc I’d love to see them win it in person - but I think Avs get it done tonight

Avs in 5
5-2

Agreed. I know a lot of it is self-caused to get to the point he’s at, but I’d also be super excited seeing Jack Johnson hoisting it after his story.

ESPN/ABC's coverage of the finals have been awful. I like Chelios and Messier, but there just isn't enough coverage.

TNT had an hour pre and post game. ESPN gives 10 minutes before game and 2 minutes after the game then SVP does a decent job but it's simply not enough. Are they even going to have the ceremony on ABC once the cup is won whenever it happens?

Currently on ESPN it's CWS finals preview and on ABC it's Wheel of Fortune wtf

Yeah, I wish TNT had the finals. It would be wall to wall. I know for the 1,425th time that I am reminding you guys we get CBC in Detroit, but they are not much better than ABC. They are running some gag show right now. They don't care when it's American teams.

It’s freaking pathetic. TNT is tGOAT coverage but you’d at least think there’d be a 30 minute pregame show at minimum.

Knowing ESPN, it’ll be ABC for the game, and ESPN+ for the ceremony.

Yeah, it's a complete 180 from the NBA Finals when it was hours and hours of pregame coverage before each game of the NBA Finals. Yet there is barely anything before the potential Stanley Cup clinching game. It night and day coverage. It's such a joke how much garbage ESPN tries to cram boring NBA down our throats. NBA draft coverage was unbearable last night too. I suspect ESPN plus has their The Point show on at some point. It's sometimes aired on ESPN2. But damn, it's a sad times when the CWS and lacrosse gets more coverage than the Stanley Cup Finals. I don't get it.

I regret that TNT didn't get the whole rights package. I really liked their hour pregame and postgame shows. frick ESPN.

That is surprising. I always liked CBC's coverage. I bet Sportsnet has is all over it.

My ESPN plus just figured out I’m not allowed to watch the broadcast in this country as did my Cox Contour so if anybody has a link anywhere , I’d appreciate it. Otherwise Ill just listen to the radio call and watch a replay. Life is disappointing sometimes.

Just talked with my wife. Does anyone know if share screen on Zoom won’t get fricked up with ESPN?

If it won’t we got you. If it will, I’d think the best bet will be a free trial on Fubo or something

Hoping TB wins tonight as I want to watch more hockey over the next 4-5 days. Don’t care who wins, just want to see the Finals go 7 games.
