It has to stay at the spot it hit the ground. Guessing it rolled a little off that spot when he placed it, so he replaced it until it stayed.

That’s a rough Sunday to essentially cough up 12 million. Give it to Rory for hanging in and pressing after that crappy bogey start too.

Rory started the tournament 6 strokes back

He then went triple bogey and bogey on his first two holes

And then he won. fricking nails

If he doesn’t make it into the group with Scottie, I don’t think the collapse happens. Xander not as intimidating to play with.

Continuing to do the same thing he's done for almost a decade? He was much better this year, but I'll still bet he doesn't get another one. Definitely not multiple.

I agree

It wasn't who he was playing against, it was what he was playing for

Did he have another remotely controlled golf ball?

He’s had some missteps and I’ve lost money because of it

after the initial strategic drops that rolled past the club length, he placed it repeatedly until it was teed up in the rough.

Scottie doesn't collapse and Rory is enjoying his runner-up check.

Very uncharacteristic and detracts from a great season for Scheffler

Scheff did collapse, but Rory was able to make great shots in tough lies.

To me, that was the difference....scrambling well seems to win all the time.

This was a "major" pressure with high stakes($) so you need to scramble. Rory does have that in him.(Even though he is a major douche and his anti-American stances)

Not sure what stances you’re specifically referring to, but he’s also not American so…

It’s a generation of making runs. That’s what golf is now. The depth has done that. Rory ran off 4

Spieth 3

Morioka 2

Brooks 4

That’s what we are going to see. In the meantime though, Rory still has stayed the most consistent of the generation by far. If he wins 1 or 2 more which all trends show he will, 5 or 6 majors with the current fields and depth of the modern game is absolutely all time worthy.

Anyone who even pretends to know golf would concede that. 5 or 6 would be like 8-10 in previous eras

100% this.

Rory isn't even American. He just lives here.

Weird flex.

Pro-China(loves his china, like Ledouche), eviron-wacko freak, and anti general pro-American values, but he lives here. Go back to Ireland weirdo.

It's so crazy thinking about Brooks and Rory popping off 4 in such a short time frame. Amazing to watch. If they both get 1 more they are legends of this generation.

In Rory's current form he'll win at Augusta
