I still have a habit of always wondering what Robin Miller will have to say about race strategy and incidents.
Speeding on pit road is fairly common in NASCAR, but you very rarely see it in IndyCar. They usually have that down to a science. I look forward to Dixon’s explanation for what happened.

The Indy 500 is a double-points race, so it had the potential for huge swings in the championship, and that's exactly what happened. Winner Marcus Ericsson shot up 7 spots in the standings to become the championship leader. McLaren teammates Pato O'Ward and Felix Rosenqvist both shot up 5 spots in the championship. Biggest losers include Romain Grosjean, who crashed about halfway through the race and dropped 6 spots, and Takuma Sato, who gave up a potential top 12 finish for a long-shot fuel economy gambit that didn't work, resulting in a P25 finish and dropping 5 spots in the standings.

Also..great job by Indy on Ericsson in NY from stock exchange to throwing out the first pitch at the Yankees game

Rossi is expected to sign with McLaren as the 3rd full-time driver so he's doing fine, and the pressure will be on him to produce there, too. But I don't think he can keep up with Pato.
Callum Ilott broke his hand in his Indy crash and has been ruled out at Detroit. Santino Ferrucci has been signed to replace him at Belle Isle.

Finish fifth at Indy and get fired
Wow

This has been brewing for a while. I think Rossi has been looking for an out so it may have been mutual.

Romain Grosjean with a big crash in the Fast 12 round of qualifying at Belle Isle. Grosjean doing Grosjean things the last two weeks.
The big surprise so far: Both of Dale Coyne's drivers Takuma Sato and David Malukas are in the Fast 6 for the first time this year.

Josef Newgarden on pole.
Shockingly, Sato is starting on the front row. The last couple of years, Sato has been consistently slow in qualifying on road/street courses. I just figured he was getting old. But seeing how poorly RLL is doing this year, I wonder if he was just on the wrong team. And maybe RLL is missing his technical feedback this year?
Aside from Coyne, Meyer Shank did a great job with both Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud making the Fast 6.

IndyCar at Belle Isle right now. Unfortunately, it's one of three races not on NBC. It's on USA Network, or the Peacock app of course.
