I never noticed before that they sing the Canadian anthem. Does Belle Isle split the international boundary?

No

The island is 100% on the US side. It is part of the city of Detroit.

No idea why they do that

This is exactly the type of race I love. Two-stop vs three-stop strategies! Tons of passing, no idea who's going to win!

Brilliant race from both Power and Rossi. It would have been a little more exciting if the race was one lap longer.

Great race, no FCY to screw anyone over. Just pure strategy and a battle between a two stopper and a three stopper.

The Road America weekend has begun with Practice 1 on Friday, and there is a new entry. Paretta Autosport has entered Simona de Silvestro in the #16 Chevy-powered car, and is intending to enter Simona at Mid-Ohio and Nashville as well.

You may remember Paretta as the Indy 500 team last year with the all-female pit crew. Beth Paretta had big ambitions to create a full-time IndyCar team, but disappeared after the Indy 500 last year, and only managed to get enough sponsorship for three races this year.

Paretta is entering these races with a technical partnership with Ed Carpenter Racing, but it goes further than just sharing data and borrowing crew members. It turns out Paretta doesn't even own a car. The car they are running is usually seen as the #33 ECR car that Ed Carpenter himself is racing at oval races this year. It will be #16 and have a different livery when Simona is in the car. The car has a few small sponsors, but the major sidepod space is empty, so they don't look like a team that is building a sponsor base to run full time.

A-10 flyover at Road America!

Alexander Rossi is on pole. He's been on fire since they announced he signed with McLaren. But he's still driving for Andretti.

Race starting in a few minutes on NBC.

Last week at tight Belle Isle, there wasn't a single full course yellow. Now we've had two already.

Geezus, DeFrancesco punted the current championship leader Will Power.

Palou seems more bitter about his teammate Ericsson than he should be. The contact seemed more like Palou's mistake to me.

Can these guys not drive? Every time I look up there’s another car hitting the wall.
