The Yuki one was inexcusable.

COTA was a turn 1 incident. Sainz went out so of course he had to get a penalty, but I don't think it was as bad as everyone made it out to be.

I disagree, yea stuff happens in turn 1, but he knows he has cold tires and 100 kilos of fuel, and turn 1 at COTA is aggressive, even if its uphill and its a blind corner. He was going way to fast for that corner.

I had zero problem with the Tsu incident.

Yes, I know F1's rules about front wheel to front wheel when passing.

I think their rule is dumb. If someone is inside you, chopping them is probably a bad idea. As Tsu found out.

Sure, Ric got ten seconds. Tsu was out of the race.

He can whine about it while he sits and watches the race, whereas had he given room he would have been IN the race.

*What I really find comical is a lot of the guys screaming about Ric's pass are the same ones that want DRS to go away no matter the cost. Guess they don't want ANY fricking passing.

I meant the the Mick incident in Singapore, not sure why I said TSU.

RIC wasn't that bad, he had the open spot. We've just become so used to seeing drivers slam the door to stop passes and deal with the penalties later.

Not sure how close Gasly is to catching a race ban, but he really had points added to his license for not giving the spot back? That seems like crap.

I think of all of Russell's punts, the CoTA punt was his least egregious. First lap first turn shite happens when you're carrying 100 kg of fuel on cold tires

It's not like he didn't know what he was running. That pass was never going to happen. Ever. It was ridiculous to even remotely go for it. It was bad driving that cost Carlos and Ferrari a good bit of points.

5 seconds seems light, but stewards don't generally go hard on penalties for first lap stuff.

He took the poll sitter out on the first turn by hitting him dead square. It should have been 30 seconds, regardless of what lap it was on. Being on the first lap makes it even worse. If I was Carlos, I would have wanted to throw gloves with Russell.

You can tell that the greats are able to manage a lot in race, Alonso, Vettel, Max, Hamilton.
Would love to see all of these, each in their prime, head to head, with Alonzo and Vettel getting their pick of car in the qualifying; Perez's car, George's car, or either of the two Ferrari's.

He wasn't trying to pass Sainz. He was trying to race Hamilton. That's where 95% of his concentration was. Russell was fighting Hamilton, locked up going into the turn while Sainz tried to take the tighter line to the left of Max. Boom. Collision. Was Russell at fault? 100%. Was it near as bad as some of his other dick moves? Not at all.

I disagree on this. The first few turns of the first lap get some slack.

perhaps it would be advisable to have more than 5% of your attention on the cars directly front of you going into turn 1

I tried but the only ones I see are $8000 hospitality seats. Not sure what's going on with Ticketmaster.

I believe the others all sold out of the presale. I was hitting refresh at 10am to get in the line.

Protests = No race
Missile attacks = Game on
Brazil just doesn't have enough money to grease the right hands.
