At this point Ferrari would be wise to tank the rest of the season, letting Merc get second.

The extra development time is worth more than the cash between 2nd and 3rd. Not that they are concerned about the money anyway.

Im a sucker for the real world of the paddock. The drivers (and family) and people who go beyond toxic fans and just are about the racing. Ladt year with Hamilton's dad congratulating the Verstappen's is a great example.

Abu dhabi 2021...

So this is a great moment

Doesn't Ferrari skim 5% off the top, anyway? Serious question.

You mean the Heritage bonus or whatever? Yeah, they have some special agreement.

Why were the Mexican fans booing Ham? He didn't do anything to Perez. He ran as good a race as Mercedes could run.

They boo'd max as well, but also cheered. Maybe the lack of Red Bull. Who knows these days.

F1 fandom has become so toxic.

Understand me when I say, it became toxic when drivers started speaking on political issues.

Same reason he gets boo’d most places outside of UK, his SJW persona. But it’s weird Vettel doesn’t get the same, although his is mostly environmental.

Ham has been pretty tame as of late though.

I think it is a product of social media in general. Faceless arguments that can spread an idea. Politics obviously doesn't help.

He's also a whiney bitch narcissist that won a shitload of races.

Hell, just dominating for years will have people booing you even if you're a nice guy.

Ham seemed very professional to me after the race congratulating Max and Checo.

well that certainly explains the pig they rolled onto the grid yesterday. Engine mode: tank [engaged]

Yeah. Ferrari were dogs yesterday. Kinda sucked. Would have been more fun with a third team mixing it up but it turned in to snoozer as soon as Max cleared the DRS gap. Midfield fight was great as always.

Max the robot. Check out these lap times. He ran a 1:22 for every lap on these mediums. Bono still waiting for the drop off.

Once i started sim racing, you gain immense respect for what these guys are able to do in race. One lap raw speed is one thing, but managing to do it lap after lap, while managing tires, racing people, and giving feedback on the car is crazy complicated. I liken it to golf, where you can hit a 6 iron to 2 ft on any given hole, but to do it shot after shot and manage issues etc.

You can tell that the greats are able to manage a lot in race, Alonso, Vettel, Max, Hamilton.

That race was pretty much a 71 lap parade of cars. It was a perfect race for a Sunday nap though. Probably the least interesting race of the year. It pretty much being a %100 guarantee that Max is going to win every race does zap the excitement a bit.

I blame Merc strategists for making it a snoozefest. We could have had some front battles if they held on to those mediums for longer.

Jorge Russell actually had the right idea to go long on the mediums and then finish on the reds. Ric showed that worked pretty well.

I remember watching Schumacher's in car, the dad, not the kid, and he was constantly adjusting brake bias and shite for about every other corner it seemed. The entire race. And he wasn't being told by his engineer, but rather did it on his own.

Was mind blowing. Didn't see the other drivers doing it.
