They really f'd this race up.
When you are there AT the race, none of that matters, (you don't know it) but you should have been there when the large video screen showed George taking out Sainz. The boos were loud. When George would fly by, he'd get boo'd throughout the race. Nobody pulled for Russell. He seems supremely unlikable, anyway, but refuses to personally accept it. His aggressive, but garbage style of driving and smug demeanor are very off-putting. Taking out a popular driver/car on the first turn of the first lap won him no points with the fans.

There's chatter in the @F1 paddock that a New York City race is still a possibility in the future, and Liberty Media executive Renee Wilm told @SBJ

"The logistics (around an NYC race) are extremely challenging, but I'm not in a position to close the door on any geography."

Do we only get to see the grid walks when they air the races on abc? Only time I see them. I really like sky’s overall presentation.

They're part of the broadcast for each race, I honestly don't mind them. Most of the time he catches up with actual F1 involved people, drivers, team people, former drivers, etc. and it's good commentary. Seems its when we get to the big flashy races(COTA, Miami, Monaco) that he tries to interview celebrities and people there because they have a million social media followers that don't know shite about F1 or don't want to talk to him so it just ends up super awkward. Or when he stalls out and can't find anyone to talk too, maybe they should have someone off camera grabbing people for him to talk to so he doesn't end up with just a bunch of dead space.

Sounds like Will Buxton doesn't like Martin's grid walks either. F1TV vs Sky Sports Grid Walk Fight

If you're not paying to be on the pre-race grid, then I'm sorry, it's all fair game to have a mic shoved in your face.

I've said it before, but y'all will know if I'm ever on the grid. I'm hunting down Brundle and shoving that mic in my face myself. He doesn't know who half the famous people are anyways.

The V10 cars in the distance sound like a bunch of demons in this old clip from Spa:

Here's the Stroll/Alonzo crash from my viewpoint.

The best sounding ones are the 2011 cars with the hot blown diffusers. The engines go from screaming in the straights to sounding like they're going to explode out the back end. I've never had the pleasure of hearing one in person (I'd love to "feel" it), but hearing them in videos is still pretty awesome. An amazing work of engineering.

I know Alonso had a scary ride, but I can only imagine how badly Stroll was shitting himself as he went perpendicular to the track. He was a sitting duck.

frick stroll in the face with a soldering iron. That motherfricker has never once used his mirrors. He takes other people out of races for enjoyment and has no place on the grid. His cûnt daddy is the only reason his name hasn't already faded to obscurity.

was just listening to the Missed Apex Podcast last week about banned tech that described how this worked and they played audio clips how you could tell which car just from the sound.

I just got done reading Adrian Newey's book. You should check it out. I didn't know cars back in the 80s had blown diffusers until I read the book.
