I recorded qualifying but forgot to record the race
Was Max just not that fast or was it just really hard to pass there? Surprised when I saw the final standings. Wish Ferrari could have gotten the victory.
Twitter seems to be a bit up in arms over Russell screwing over Mick but I haven't seen any video. What happened there?

Dr Helmut Marko has accused Toto Wolff‘s former special advisor Shaila-Ann Rao of leaking information about Red Bull’s rumoured budget cap breach.
Helmut must have forgot he gave a interview in which he said they breached the cap.

He blew the start and lost 4 places on the first lap. Made up some through the field but passing was tough. Upto around 5th but wrecked and lost several places before making back up to 7-8th finish.

It was hard to pass, and Max was a bit impatient in a few of his moves.

Russell basically drove into the side of Mick and then cried that he left room. He's right that he left room, but he still drove into Mick

COTA expects to break its attendance record for F1 again next month, with a three-day total to well exceed 400,000 people.
COTA changed original plans to reduce attendance this year after the city added a five-lane road to the track and it made infrastructure improvements.

Would like this bubble to burst, Ill take Max winning every race by ten seconds for the rest of this yr and next. People give up going for stupid prices and I can return. Before anyone calls me broke, I can buy a ticket at this year's prices and not feel the effect, but I also think anything for that kind of money for an event is stupid.

Agreed. It is fun for the spectacle of the race, but the dollars it takes makes the event lackluster.
I've heard that a lot of Euro races are cheaper. About to have to start finding out.

They obviously didn't ask me, because I'd have convinced them of how stupid the sprints are.

I told my wife when we're rich(
) we'd spend the summer in Europe, chasing around F1 then catching stages of the Tour De France during the week.
We did COTA last year, turn 12 grandstand tickets, driving to/from Austin(from Lafayette), parking pass, Thur-Monday at a hotel a block off 6th Street, and a couple fairly nice dinners, food/drinks at the track, etc ran us about $2500 total for my wife and I. It was a good time but not something I'd do every single year.
When tickets came out for 2022 I priced everything again, staying at the same hotel/same tickets/etc would have pushed the trip cost to around $3500-$4000. I expected prices to jump but was surprised to see that high.

Spain was $1100 for two main grandstand tickets.
Spoke to a neighbor last night that had a suite in Miami reserved for $20k. Miami pulled the tickets and raised the price to $120k.

Yeah, COTA has gone crazy high if you don't really work to lower the price.
By comparison Canada was a lot cheaper for what I thought was a better experience than COTA. I've said it before on here, if I lived in Austin or easily accessible I would go back to COTA. Everything being what it is and I will go back to Montreal in the future. Especially if that direct flight hangs around.

If they insist on doing the sprints, do it like F2. Invert the top 10 with limited points for the sprint but Sunday grid set by qualifying.

See, I still prefer my format idea.
Just don't have sprints.
See, problem solved, we're all happy.

Can we do sprints but bring back Mazespin and Goatifi for them and they get to play demolition derby?

They only invert the top 10 though. Which is a good compromise

F1 cost cap row: Christian Horner to be vindicated - Red Bull breach only "minor"
Red Bull are set to escape any major punishment from the FIA over the F1 budget scandal, vindicating team boss Christian Horner.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Red Bull have committed a “minor breach”, with the discrepancy around the £1 million mark - rival teams had accused them of overspending by £10m.
