It was definitely in use during FP1 and FP2.

These cars don’t have DRS. I don’t know what you saw, but it’s not DRS.

Williams, woof! Russell should have jumped even if Merc wasn’t interested.

Looks like it’s a different function, didn’t realize they had done this.

Part of HAM's issue was a malfunctioning DRS system, but he was bouncing like a San Diego low rider.
It looked rough going into T1. It's pretty hard to brake in a street car on a bumpy road. I can't imagine going 190 mhp and trying to brake as hard as they are.

Yeah, I missed that they had a limited effect DRS. It’s not what it used to be though.

It's so much easier to root for Haas with Mazespin gone. Mick, KMag, and everyone loves Guenther.
Looking forward to Haas finishing in the points.
But I'm pretty bummed so far about AlphaTauri. I want both drivers to shine this year.
And Williams are looking like a colossal disappointment.
I was hoping Albon would enjoy his return to F1 but it could be a year of misery.

I was so hoping they wouldn't look like hot garbage. I didn't expect weekly podiums, but decent chances for Q3 and low level points would be nice. Alas, they apparently have a lot of work to do.

I’ve seen enough. Ferrari is legit. We’ve got a 3 way race for the constructors this year!!!!
More like a two-way race. Hamilton said Red Bull is 8 to 9 tenths ahead and Ferrari is 5 to 6 tenths ahead of the Mercedes after FP1.
Mercedes will be fighting for 3rd with McLaren and Alpine and the rest.

Something tells me Merc will "figure it out" after a month or two

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if in qualifying tomorrow Christian Horner sees his shadow and it's 6 more years of Mercedes, but I have to admit that Merc is not looking great right now.
If it's true that RBR and Ferrari have passed them up, I think they will figure it out in due time and be a/the frontrunner again.

While Magnussen’s qualifying sim time in second practice grabbed attention, Magnussen said he was actually more encouraged by the long run form of the Haas.
“The car has been feeling good all day again, like last week,” he said.
“In FP1 we were focusing a little more on race setup and race feeling, and we weren’t trying to set a lap time.
“In FP2 we did a quali sim, still not fully going for it, but more like a quali sim and that looked better on the times.
“But I think long run was what I was really encouraged by. The car just felt so consistent and lap times were really strong.”
Magnussen conceded though that trying to work out where Haas’s rivals stacked up in the order was quite hard at the moment.
“At this point I still feel like I don’t know where people are, especially when you look at long run pace,” he said.

I did mean DRS but apparently I’ve misunderstood a few things as I thought the point of the new aero was to get rid of DRS, but apparently they haven’t gotten rid of it yet. I don’t know why I thought it was fully gone.

I think that's still a goal for F1, but we're not there yet. TBD whether the new regs allow for better following that would make DRS obsolete.
