it is really interesting to see all the sidepod shaping. AM has most of their cut out below the sidepod but McLaren is up top.
That's what was most notable to me too... well that and McLaren left a ton off of the render
Interesting now that two teams now have placed a little vertical element on the front wing adjuster to generate vortices on the inboard part of the car to help condition the air flow
I wonder who else will follow suit

Time for predictions: Which current driver(s) do you think will be out of F1 after the 2022 season?

Seb, Alonso, Hamilton if he wins.

Yep, that sounds right to me.

Yuki might have his last run too, possibly someone like Latifi since the money might run dry eventually.
That is a lot of turnover though. Not sure there are 5 racers to fill the roles.

Ricardo might need to retire…

I believe rookies deserve a 2nd season because there is so little testing these days, the season itself is their graduate-level education. I wouldn't be surprised if Tsunoda washes out, and I wouldn't be surprised if he puts together a decent season. However, he seems too emotional and doesn't have that killer psychopathic instinct, so I will predict that he washes out. But I'm actually rooting for him.

There are plenty of drivers. Out of last year's F2 championship, only Zhou is in F1 now, and he only finished P3 in the championship. The top teams bring up veterans languishing on the slower teams, and the mid-field and backmarker teams look for a mixture of pay drivers, promising rookies, and demoted veterans, and there are plenty of them. Christian Lundgaard is a member of the Alpine Driver Academy but he saw the writing on the wall and signed up with IndyCar. The problem is drivers finding seats, not the other way around.

Did y'all know lewis hamilton did a voiceover in cars 3?
Posted on 2/11/22 at 9:42 pm to kengel2
Yup. Schumi did one in Cars 1.
Wholesome moment of last year was when Mick was asked "What fictional character would you like to be?"
He answered something about "The Ferrari at the end of Cars"

Lots of drivers, but not enough to fit what F1 teams want. Money, skill, attitude, experience.
Albon has no business being back in F1, but he is a known quantity. He will beat out someone that should be in the seat because there is less risk for a midfield team.

I can see the 5 named being gone... I can also see Alonso and Seb coming back for another run at it
To the point tho, there were at least that many drivers ahead of MAZ before he bought his way in...
Also, if McLaren has an opening, does Pato come over from Indy??
If Lewis leaves, does Merc take Ocon??
And if Ocon leaves Alpine, do they take Gasly??
I think (want) yes on all of the above

If George is what we think he is Merc doesn't bring Ocon in. They bring in someone new, out if F2 or ticktum/nissany/other on the outside looking in.
Toto saw what happened with Lewis/Nico and doesn't want that again.
I do think Gasly goes with someone else. No way that dude stays with RBR. Marko has said his contract is long. Like another 4 years long or something.

IF George is that good in the new car then I cant disagree with your line of thinking, it does make sense (unless they're in another major title fight with RBR)... the sticking point in my brain is how loyal Toto has been with Ocon

I think it's to the end of 2023... he has to bail at that point, and if theres one thing French love, it's the fricking French

Yup. When Gasly crumbled at Red Bull, he was sent back to Toro Rosso, where he picked up where he left off, and got his career back on track.
When Albon crumbled at Red Bull, he got drummed out of F1. He didn't even do a full rookie season at Toro Rosso before he got promoted. He wasn't ready for the pressure, and I don't think he did quite as bad as the record shows, thanks to Hamilton. He deserves one more season, and Williams wouldn't have chosen him if they didn't think he could help them develop the car and get improved results. Also, Horner has been complimentary of Albon because of his behind-the-scenes work for Red Bull, and I think that's sincere.

Best of luck to him, hopefully no one races him too hard in his return.

I've now defended two sketchy drivers in this thread. I hope one of them works out.

I still have a glimmer of hope that Mazepin does something.
Just so we all have to begrudgingly admit he is worth a damn.
