Think almost all Russian drivers will find themselves in trouble. Might start in the UK, but it will spread to other countries.
Seems kindof fricked up in some ways. I don't know how UK handles their shite though. Could be typical to ban certain nationalities from sports in general.

They are not us." and welcomed us Americans with open arms.

Mazepin might be different because he is the son of an oligarch, but it does seem shitty for the athletes that are regular, every-day citizens. This is Putin's war, not the peoples.

I don't have any issue with this. Mazepin's family made their beds by the company they keep.

Fine with blocking the money.
Going after individual athletes is kind of crap. Especially since they are rejecting based on where their license is issued.

Doesnt really matter if Maz races or not, Kubica will still find a way to finish ahead of him in points

I'm okay with them going after Maz specifically. Yeah, stay away from your normal athlete that grew up in a middle class Moscow family, but I have no love lost for Mazepin. Dude is a piece of shite and he's only there because his father aligned himself with Putin and made beaucoup money.

Motorsport UK bans all Russian/Belarusian teams and drivers from competing there. Also, colors, symbols, and flags are out.

Ya, I dont hate mazepin, we all know why he is in f1. He's in f1 because of his dad which will be the reason he is out of f1.

For those that do F1 fantasy, which team do you think is better? Still messing around filling out a lineup.
Team 1:
Hamilton, Lando, Yuki, Schumacher, Mazepin (whoever fills in for him)
Redbull
Team 2
Max, Russell, Ricciardo, Schumacher, Mazepin (same thing)
Mclaren

not FIA though, but I am seeing he wont race at Silverstone.
I was curious who his mother is and if she is Russian, but the internet doesnt seem to know who she is. So i guess he cant claim another nationality

Any Russian driver is in the position of their passports being revoked, not being able to fly due to restrictions even if their passports are fine.
Then, if they skirt the rules and start flying private or some shite they risk a major incident of evading sanctions, which probably won't be looked at lightly.
With all of that solved, it still leaves that almost every Russian driver uses dirty money for whatever seat they are holding in motorsports.

Mazepin out, Fittapaldi in per Reddit
ETA it’s still just a rumor from a “reliable source”

I know this is just a small issue in the global scheme, but this sort of shite (along with all the other petty "anti-Russian" BS going on [I saw where Russian cat exhibitors are being banned from competitions]) could very well push apathetic or even somewhat anti-Putin Russians into his camp. They fricking hated Stalin, but you bet your arse they fought and bled for Mother Russia against the Germans. They are a VERY nationalistic country.

Looks like a few outlets are reporting GIO is going to get the seat.
Makes sense.

Sure, but I promise Mazepin isn’t anti putin lol

He's the one that makes the most sense to me.
He has F1 experience so they aren't trying to rush in a rookie
He'll have had some sim time with a 2022 car
He's got $$ backing
He's got Ferrari behind him, who may cut Haas a deal on parts/power units to get him in the seat. It's the quickest/easiest way for them to get their Italian in F1.

Steiner had spoken about loyalty before, and giving the reserve driver opportunities.

Off topic, but WTF1 just did a review of the new DTS season and they are saying it’s the worst season by far and give it a 5/10 “closer to a 4/10” so that’s disappointing.

Saw a lot of reviews that are down on DTS.
Hard to tell if people are just hating on the series because it is the hot thing to do now.
Still going to watch.
