This must be the first post-race show I've watched
This was as cringeworthy as the post race interview, if not worse. What was with the sirens inside the tunnel? The police escort of the podium finishers in golf carts to the podium ceremony has to go next season.

Kinda piggy-backing on the Haas race strategy convo.
I chalked it up to just not knowing enough early on, but it really does seem like Haas ends up on the less optimal tire strategy more often than not. Everything from being the only two cars in the entire field on a different compound to the number of stops in a race. It just never seems to work out. In fact, it's almost always to the detriment of the drivers. Is that a Guenther problem? It's almost like they still plan races like they have last year's car and have to go against the field in strategy in order to make up places.
They've had some bad luck with cautions this year, but they've also got plenty of bullets in their feet from their own gun.

Watched the race at a bar in Seville wearing my Ferrari hat. The bar was nothing but The Dutch. Had a blast with them. They were awesome to party with.
The Dutch are great fans, my wife and I met two couples in Canada in the early 2000s during the Jos years and went to Spa with them twice and sat on the Kemmel Straight in the Max years. When we got home we were easy to find on the replays because I was in red and my wife was in Kimi gear surrounded by a sea of orange.
They are great to party with but I still prefer the Fins or Brazilians when I don't wind up fighting in a pool because I point out it isn't my fault Senna forgot to turn left at Tamburello, apparently 16 years is too soon. I should have listened to South Park and waited 22.3 years. I guess Sept of 2026 my crass joke will be back on the table.
Lewis is getting hammered on the various forums for complaining about the strategy calls. The stress of a shitty (by his standards car) and getting beaten by an albeit lucky new teammate is beginning to show.
RBR's high speed car is really coming to the fore. The Ferrari is arguably marginally better in every other area but that huge speed advantage is well huge. When your advantage is in braking, braking, and traction under acceleration staying in front causes a lot of tire deg, you can still use basically all your speed advantage without beating up the tires. If Ferrari can't win in Spain and Monaco or doesn't drop some drag to get closer in speed the championships might just be RBR's to lose. I hope this season doesn't bring back my dreams of sneaking in and putting a 10mm socket in a cylinder in the Red Bull RBPTH001. I don't like myself when I have been reduced to praying for DNFs.

I don't know the count but RBR have burnt(literally) quite a few pus so at some point they will take a hit for that.

If only Merc had a solid number two driver to go with Russell they wouldn’t be to far out of the constructors cup.
So when those upgrades hit it would be a three team race.

we know how much Ferrari sucks with the development game. This season is already as good as over.
Ferrari hasn’t even introduced its first major upgrade package yet. Maybe after Monaco we will know more, but to say this season is already in Red Bill’s hands is silly, especially since Red Bull will likely hit the spending cap.

Exactly (Haas). They did the early pit strategy which put them behind a train and ruined their day. How can all their people not see this as a problem way before hand. Why did they still pit early when no one else did knowing it would put them behind slower cars? In a lot of ways this track is like Monaco strategy and passing wise. They have no ability to think on their feet.
Then by pitting early Mick ends up left out on oldest tires after caution. So the early pit mistake cost them later too. Then their drivers got frustrated and wrecked other cars.
They have decent cars this year and are wasting points early season while others catch up. This is not first race either.
And Mick ruined 2 races with his wreck in SA. Because not only did it ruin that race when they went to Aus they had no backup car due to cars being so new and no spares built up yet. Not their fault but throw in Mag having to step in so late and had a sore neck for races which hurt results as well.
They have issues all over the team. Pit stops are slow. At least no wheels falling off like years past. But at some point Guenther has to be held accountable unless Haas is not letting him upgrade people and drivers.
Isn’t there anyone besides Mags to step in? I get MSC being young and developing but Mags has hit a ceiling or regressed it seems. This is their best chance/year to score some decent points and its being wasted. Does Haas not care or maybe blind to it?

Couple of things:
I got to see the final 2/3's of the race on TV. I thought it was pretty good. The track held up and at least one nice pass near the end. I was hoping "Chuck" would get a shot at Max at the end but that never materialized. I did not catch any post race stuff.
Willy T. Ribbs was a pretty big deal and pretty good in Trans Am and IMSA back in the 80's. If I'm not mistaken, he drove for Jack Roush at one point prior to Roush's move to NASCAR.
People crapping on Florida need to realize that race was in Dade County/Miami. Very few people consider that Florida including myself. It's so different than the rest of the state.
Cheers!

From Adam Stern,
Cognizant, the American digital services company that is the co-title sponsor of AstonMartinF1, has struck so many lucrative B2B deals that it attributes to the sponsorship that it has already paid for itself essentially, including one worth $100 million, per CMO Gaurav Chand.
—-
F1Miami COO Tyler Epp declined to comment on how much was invested into building out the campus and circuit, but motorsports execs speculated that it's likely into the low nine figures, with one pegging it at around $150 million.
For comparison, COTA cost $400 million.
——
F1 will host 15-20 sponsor prospects this weekend, per commercial director Brandon Snow
With five races in North America next year, F1 is eyeing regional deals as it thinks there are many brands interested in sponsoring those events but don't need pricier global rights.
——
America has become F1's top-selling market for merchandise sold online globally, per Fanatics, which runs the e-commerce site and said overall sales are up 135% YOY.
The numbers are based on sales since the start of the season.

Wow, I wonder how many millions of sponsorship dollars were lost after the "shite show."

I'm glad Sainz had a nice race after so many tough breaks already this year. I thought he was going to get hosed on the restart because Perez had a better set of tires but I was glad he was able to hold him off.
Posted on 5/9/22 at 1:17 pm to iwyLSUiwy
I like Sainz, but I was really pulling for Checo. He almost had it, but made a serious mistake he's not likely to make, again.

Yea he should have had it. I'm rooting for Sainz to finish top 3 on the year so I was glad he held him off

O gtfo. He seemed like he was a genuine fan of the sport and their driving. Also, it was at the most three minutes of total interviews, who cares if he didn't seem as smart at you would like. That will have nothing to do with sponsors or a reason some might consider it a shite show.
Posted on 5/9/22 at 2:40 pm to iwyLSUiwy
The entire post race including the interview was a total shite show. Not sure what to say to you if you can’t see that. It was embarrassing and encapsulates everything that is the perception of Americans by many Europeans. We’re our own worst enemy at times.

My post mentioning a "shite show" was mirroring Adam Cooper's tweet about the Paddock Club service being so bad, that big potential sponsors were completely unimpressed.
iwyLSUiwy was both responding to HubbaBubba's post and correcting him that my "shite show" comment was about the terrible Paddock Club service that may have cost F1 a lot of sponsorship dollars.
