If Masi made the correct decision, he would still have his job and Verstappen would still be racing number 33.
No getting around either of those things.
shite happens though.

Max won the most races, most podiums and led the most laps. Im good with him carrying the #1

Masi being sacked is pretty much confirmation that he gifted Max the championship.
Think FIA wants a race director who values the sport over the show and that was the issue that Masi would never overcome.
That and he lost a lot of credibility the last half of this season.

I agree. I also believe Masi was right when he didn’t want to end under a red flag. That would have also been bad for the sport.

Everyone forgets Lewis didn’t receive a deserved penalty early in the race for going off the track.

The return of the Silver Arrows. ?? Meet the Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance.
Apparently the rendered photos on Merc's Twitter are very different from the car shown during the reveal stream.

Seems with each reveal we get bigger and bigger side pods and here’s Mercedes with what might be the smallest side pods yet. Another very different shape from what we’ve previously seen, I’m enjoying all the variation on these designs.

Better look at the side. That is a wild design.

Austin renewed until 2026

Glad they went back to silver, the black was cool but it was awkward when the announcers wanted to say silver arrows and the cars were black.
Silver is more a luxury color as well, fits mercedes.

Yea, those are two very different cars

Great job Merc, everybody else only dropped 1

The W13 looks more like what I expected to see than any other reveal. For one it is clear to see how they are getting unmolested air into the venturi tunnels. The wide floor and narrow pods dropping into a tiny waist at the gearbox also makes "sense" to me.
That being said I am looking forward to seeing the actual car reveals. I am so glad we don't have months before the season starts or I would waste a lot of time thinking about the aerodynamics of bits that will never see race day.
As for the livery I generally like it but I can't imagine the designer was at all happy about having to incorporate Ineos red. The Petronas green works with the solver fine but the red is just jarring.

Anyone have recommendations on how to watch the races? I used espn last year but we cut cable last month, so looking at options other than the free online stream websites just because they can be unreliable, is F1TV worth $80 for the year?

Worth it, but they will do a 59 offer 2 weeks before season starts.

Dislike the Merc livery. Stars too big and too many splotches of mismatch colors.

The Merc body looks very narrow.
If the Ferrari were the Burton Batmobile, the Mercedes would be the Batmissle

Looks like a top fuel dragster with dainty little sidepods added

The merc floor looks just as wide, but that is a tight body.
The actual car looks a bit wider than that render though.
