I think Grienke will get in. Just maybe not on the 1st ballot.

If Freddie continues his trajectory, he's first ballot w/no question.

He would basically have to put up another big time MVP type season to seriously enter into the discussion. It can happen, but thats always hard to just assume that it will

I think freeman has a better case right now but both are seriously on the outside looking in. Greinke had one amazing season and a career of consistently strong around it. That sounds great, but starting pitchers have the most difficult threshold to get over

Right now its only Kershaw, Verlander, and Scherzer as far as sure things go

Schilling doesn't think he should be in the Hall of Fame.

Eh, disagree. Just keep doing what he's doing, hit 300+, 30 HR's, 95-105 RBI, and .850-900 OPS. He's in.

Chipper only had one MVP year and breezed in, and he put up similar #'s

He will have to get in as a compiler and/or reputation if he goes back to being a 4 to 5ish WAR year in year out kind of guy

He needs to start putting in 7 or 8+ WAR type of seasons for his peak to match the average 1st baseman in the HOF

How does Ortiz get in but not Bonds, Clemens, & Sosa?

He's at 3.5 WAR. That's elite.

7 and 8 WAR? Nobody gets that high, not even Trout.

And his OPS is .842, again, elite.

Agree. What a pussy move.

Also it's a fricking embarrassment Bonds, Clemens, and Schilling aren't long in the Hall of Fame now. Baseball writers are such little dipshits.

im confused by what you mean by this. He was at 3.3 this past year. Thats absolutely elite given the context of a 60 game season. But not even remotely so over a full 162

Schilling should be in. He's quite possibly the best playoff pitcher ever. The stats don't lie. I don't care if he never won a Cy Young. Put him in.

Chipper finished with 85.3 WAR over 19 seasons
Freeman is at 38.8 in 11 seasons

Freeman has some work to do considering how three best seasons were 2016, last year and in this shortened season.
He needs to perform at that 5-6 WAR range for at least 3-5 more seasons then still be good after that.

Freeman's game should age extremely well if he can stay healthy. He was putting up some monster numbers in 2017 before he got hurt, and he would have looked a lot better in 2019 if he hadn't been injured down the stretch. He probably won't reach chipper levels in WAR, but he should be in the neighborhood of +70. It will also help if he resigns with the braves

The MLB HOF is a joke. Why make people wait years before getting in? Bonds was incredible at the plate. You don’t gain hand-eye coordination using steroids.

The fact that baseball writers are openly saying Schilling isn’t getting in because of his beliefs means the Baseball HOF is forever useless. These people are literally the definition of the South Park Fart Smelling episode.

Note sure if there's is a more pretentious and self loathing group than the BBWA. It was cringe worthy watching the video of Verducci narrating his choices as he contemplated each one.

If Curt Schilling doesn't make the Hall of Fame, it won't be a Hall of Fame anymore. It will simply be a hall of "decent-to-great baseball players who don't run afoul of sportswriters."

The voters are making themselves a joke, and they don't even seem to realize it.

I agree with him. I also agree politics shouldn't have a damn thing to do with it. Schilling said if the Veterans Committee puts him in he'll accept because they matter. I'm tired of these pasty, 5'3 nerds who never damn played selecting the HOF. Remember, these voters are the same pussy fricks who didn't want baseball to happen last year. The PLAYERS should pick the HOFers not some woke arse soy nerd.
