The voters are making themselves a joke, and they don't even seem to realize it.
Then it finally happened for Mariano Rivera. No disrespect but he was a closer... and then it didn’t happen for Jeter

Except that he can’t remove himself from consideration. He’s asked to not be on the list (though he still wants to be considered by the veterans committee), but he meets all the criteria to be on the ballot next year so he probably will be.
And yes, he would 100% accept induction into the HoF if selected.
