Then you get into arguments for guys like

Bregman
Lester
Cruz
No love for the catchers?
Buster Posey & Yadier Molina.

Ur wrong here dawg
Majority of young liberal writers want them in. They have even started new boards and shite to discuss players. It's the old crotchety Writers, who some are more in the middle who refuse to budge.

Joe Mauer will be on the ballot in a few years... three time batting champs as a C, MVP, 6-time All-Star, career .306 hitter.
I guess my gut reaction is he doesn't get in. Not enough power, zero post-season wins, and ended up switching to first base for a large chunk of his career.

Those two would be the worst catchers inducted in the HOF in the last 70+ years
Each has something working for them though
Posey obviously was a key cog in 3 WS and his peak of being league MVP is good and he's only 32, but I can't imagine he'll add much to his legacy unless he can stay at the catcher position, which is a liability at this point.
Molina, besides being a dickhead, is arguably one of the greatest defensive catchers of all time, even though that pains me to say this. The problem is that is still doesn't overcome his terrible hitting numbers(relative to the HOF)
Joe Mauer is a lock.

Complete joke the % that Andruw Jones gets.

I don't see it.
I think Yadi is the biggest lock amongst the three, and I hate that neck-tatted fricker, so that pains me to say.
Unlike Mauer and Posey, he's been able to stick at C for his whole career and has been one of the best defensive players at the position ever.

Like I said, posey just has to keep racking up stats. Mauer did it over 8000 PA, Posey is at 5000. Which is why Posey has 41 WAR, Mauer has 55.
OPS+ for first 5000 PA's of career
Joe Mauer 135
Buster 128
Buster is decling faster than Mauer did

no way, right now he'd be the second-worst offensive catcher in the Hall behind Rick Ferrell who was a veterans committee pick and is routinely cited as one of the worst hall of fame picks ever.
C isn't like SS where there is a ton of light hitting players, some of the greatest catchers of all time defensively also mashed.
ProjectPat needs to come in here and give his biased take

I forgot to list Catchers in my locks the only locks there are Yadi and Posey. 3 years ago I would have said Perez was going to be in HoF but the UCL injury derailed that and he just wont get there.
Mauer should get there, he was MVP, AS MVP, SS winner. But his last 6 years he did not Catch and split between 1st and DH.
Big Papi is on the ballot next year? He will be interesting...He was a 1b who transitioned into DH only. Has a PED admission, some off field junk going around in retirement. If they vote him in but continue to blackball Clemens and Bonds, it makes this whole Hall thing a farce in my opinion.

Them voting in Biggio and Bagwell already did this.

The braves haven't even retired his number yet. It's embarrassing how little respect there is for a guy who is arguably the best defensive outfielder ever, and was an above average hitter throughout his career

I think he is but he suffers from his sharp decline
He's far and away the greatest defensive CF of all time and he was obviously no slouch on offense. I think he will get in, it will just take time.
you have to remember, the ballot has been absolutely stacked since he's been eligible. So hopefully he starts to make his way to more ballots now that its cleared out some.

I'm w/you on all of these except Rolen. Nope.
And I might be biased as a Braves fan, but Andruw should of been in the Hall 4-5 years ago. Dude is the GOAT defensive outfielder. Period! Effortless. 10 straight GG's. Very good offensive player on top of it. Should of won the MVP in '05 when he smashed 51 HR's and led a team of rookies to the playoffs but lost to Pujols. frick the Cardinals.
