Especially because Senzel is coming off a shoulder surgery and didn't have a great year at the plate. He obviously has a high ceiling but his value is kinda low right now.

Wasn’t there talk of Senzel playing SS himself? I haven’t seen him enough to know if that’s realistic but I know it was discussed

That was always the hope of Reds fans when we realized Senzel wasn't going to play 2nd base. They tried it very briefly in his early minor league career and than quickly decided to convert him to the outfield.

Think Padres are sending two young MLB players (Naylor/Margot) plus pitcher (Cantrill) plus Will Meyers and two high level prospects and money is the hold up. Boston wants the Padres to eat half of Myers deal and Padres want to only eat 1/3.
